Quote:Did you know Vermeil and Belichick were special teams coaches?

NFL.com has an article about exactly that. Toub explained being a good STC translates to being a good HC because his job requires coaching every position except QB.

And that makes every ST coach a great HC? Not to mention BB was also a HC & DC and Vermeil was a ST coach for like just 1 year with the Rams.
John Harbaugh was a ST coach as well. If you think about it, ST coaches should get more opportunities for HC gigs, compared to DC or OC. ST coaches have to deal with the WHOLE roster, while OC or DC are specialized on one side of the ball.

Doesn't matter though, I think Pagano is here to stay for 2017, for whatever reason.

Quote:You act like Ballard was the GM in KC and calling all the shots lol. Caldwell was a big part in the Julio Jones trade too. So what? Means zilch. You have to hit on your picks just like every other GM. Not surprised by the chicken little group around here, though.

And please tell me how the hell being a good ST coach makes you a good HC. I'll wait.
You said there was nothing impressive. Being a large part of building a talented playoff team and coaching non stop top 10 units on your side of the ball for a decade is impressive. Youre just being dense because of your fanship.
If Toub becomes the clots HC, the texans get an average Qb and Mariota continues his progress...we could be in for a another few years of losing...

Yep. That's what it is. Because I'm not crowning a ST coordinator as the next best HC out there. How many stout defenses has Rex Ryan been part of? Let's count the Lombardis.

What makes you think I said it makes every STC a good HC? I directly answered the question that was asked.

There is no reason to worry about Toub moving to Indianapolis.

There also is no reason to connect what other teams do to what we do for 16 weeks. That is on us.

So because he doesnt have superbowls his resume isn't impressive, nice

Rex Ryan is a defensive guy. Why do you mention him in a discussion about ST coaches?

Who said it wasn't impressive? Making him out to be a great HC already, however, is just stupid.

LOL The problem some people have is not recognizing how much of the special teams unit's success should be credited to the STC. People usually just think about the players. My issue with this idea is the Chiefs really have one great player on ST (Tyreek Hill) and he plays on offense full time. Maybe people should start thinking more about how average punters and kickers are benefiting from having good STCs.
I told you so! It can't be more official than this:

<p style="font-family:arial, verdana, helvetica;color:rgb(34,34,33);">

<p style="font-family:arial, verdana, helvetica;color:rgb(34,34,33);">"There are no other options," Ballard said bluntly. "It's Chuck Pagano. Chuck Pagano is a good football coach in the National Football League. Three 11-5 seasons, went to the AFC Championship Game, had two 8-8 (seasons) back to back, but he's won 49 games. We need to keep our eye on how hard it is to win in this league."
Quote:I guess we know who is going to get Mixon for a steal now and own us for the next decade.

Lol. What are you? The message board Donald Trump?

Trying to strike fear into the other board members for no reason at all. Pagano is coaching this next season. I would bet they don't wind up with mixon either.

As long as you've got something to cry about though...

They are the people who kept saying Ballard might fire Pagano and hire Toub. If people know for a fact that will not happen, they have no reason to say otherwise. So obviously nobody knew it before I did.

The info that pagano was being kept was available before you posted it. As im sure everyone has told you, nfl.com isnt the only source of information.
I knew yesterday, i still continued the conversation about toub because i have no reason not to

That is fine. My point is if you know the Colts will not fire Pagano, there is no reason to say that is a possibility.

Everything is always a possibility

There is no reason to worry about it after reading the article I posted. If Chuck Pagano was going to be fired it would have already happened.
