After playing in the Super Bowl the last two seasons, I don't think Marshawn Lynch has any reason to be interested in Jacksonville. Maybe Indianapolis, a playoff team that needs more running backs, but not to a losing team years away from at least a wild card spot.

The better the Jaguars offer ( if there is one ),   the better the chances Marshawn Lynch will sign with the team if he hits the open market.   Lynch isn't getting any younger.   He probably has one major payday remaining.

The Seahawks offer would pay him $10 million in 2015.

They reportedly want to make sure he retires in Seattle.
Fix the OLine before thinking about a RB.

Quote:You know even if the Patriots stack the box with all 11 guys, a stud like Lynch can get 1 yard on 3 attempts.
I understood your point, but they wouldn't have gotten 3 cracks from the 1.  They only had one timeout.

Maybe if they weren't burning the clock. They let 15 secs go then decided to pass the ball for the absurd INT
If you run on 2nd and don't make it, you burn your last timeout and are pigeon - holed in to throwing on 3rd down, with the option to run on 4th down if you still don't make it. That's what I think their thought process was at the time.

Every fan in the world thought Lynch was getting the ball on that play. Seattle thought they had the element of surprise and it burned them. It happens. I'm actually ok with throwing it on that play, just not ok with the route or the throw.
Quote:He wants the big $, thats why hes unsigned.

He's still under contract for 2015, so if we don't cut or trade him (I doubt) or if he doesn't retire, he'll be in Seattle next year.

Quote:I saw that.  Yet,  it still takes the player to agree to the contract.

It's likely Marshawn Lynch would re-sign with the Seahawks if the actual offer equals the type of offer that is being reported.   But Lynch is not exactly a conventional player from a personality standpoint.   Nothing that Lynch does would shock me.

Agree.

I think a 2 year, $20M contract with around $10M guaranteed in next season will be a good deal for both sides. His cap hit for 2015 is already $8,5M, so his new contract wouldn't effect our cap as much as people expect. Depending on how the deal is structured, it could also reduce his cap hit for 2015. If we cut him, we save around $7M, but I think the idea is to keep him.

If he shows signs of regress next season, we could cut him with minimal costs or he could simply retire after next season. After the loss on Sunday I think he'll be back for another SB run.

I really think Lynch is happy in Seattle and would be really surprised to see him go anywhere. Pete Carroll lets him do his own thing and his teammates support him. If he doesn't have those, then he becomes sullen and almost a malcontent.

I hated that he was traded from Buffalo and, in hindsight, the Bills take a lot of flack now for trading him away for a 4th round pick. However, he was never really happy in Buffalo and was an arrest away from being suspended. We also had some good running backs on the roster, so it actually made sense at the time.
