Remember that catch AR15 had in the end zone against the cowboys? It was a thing of beauty...

Can't wait to see him in September!
Quote:I'd argue he's never had a QB with the ability of Blake Bortles. A 2nd year Robinson/Lee plus the hopeful addition of a true pass catching TE...has he ever had a group of talent, that young, to work with at his previous stops?
Thats as much hyperbole as I said in my initial post. All you did was reference the passing game. The raiders had a well balanced passing attack and they were still 31st in YPG and PPG. Thats all that matters.
Quote:He OC'd the Rams in 2006-2007...The first year Bulger threw for 4000, Holt and Bruce had 1000 yards receiving and Jackson had a 1500 yard year on the ground.  Sounds pretty successful to me.
Yeah thats a good point. I didnt see that far back. Hard to argue with those numbers. But I think his more recent work is more telling of his abilities. He was inheriting a juggernaut of talent in 06.

I think it was indicative of the talent (or lack thereof) he had at RB in Oakland.  He made Freeman good and pulled a 1000K season out of Blount in Tampa.

The talent here >>> the talent at Oakland is what I'm trying to argue. It's considerably better in my opinion. It's all subjective I suppose. I'm not saying that you're wrong my man, I was trying to play the devil's advocate but didn't do the best job at it.
Quote:Yet all you do is reference what he did recently with the Raiders.  Never mind success he had in Tampa, St. Louis, and Detroit right? Right.
I dont mind him as a QB coach. OC is different.

He OC'd all three teams I listed. All three teams had varying levels of competency while he was there. It appears he tailored the offense to the strengths of the team.  Oakland was horrendous at RB and had a rookie QB and still had a passable offense.

Their offense wasnt passable. It was just as horrible as ours.

St Louis was a bright spot on his resume. Too bad it went downhill.

Tampa Bay: Mediocre, Oakland: Terrible

It's funny how the talent he had to work with also went downhill from STL, to Tampa and then to Oakland.
According to you? Any quantifiable data to back that up?

looking on the bright side... it appears he likes to take on jobs that offer a challenge.

He will definitely be challenged as an OC with the Jags, no question about that.

I'd like to think it would be hard to look worse offensively then the Jags did, at times, with Fisch as their OC, especially in the 2nd half of the season.
I think there is no way Olson doesn't demand a new rb. The run game needs fixed.

d rob played well and the other guys showed some promise too.

if the right guy is there for the right price i think they bring in some competition but its not as pressing as you make it sound.
