Quote:If the buyer goes to the breeder's house to personally meet her and both parents of the puppies, the breeder will ask questions and do everything possible to make sure the buyer will not breed dogs for money or fail to take care of them. Backyard breeders? They don't care. They just want their money.
But that doesn't explain your comment about them losing money.
Quote:On the surface it doesn't, but the implication is there.
I have to be missing something.
Quote:I think you've missed the idea of the commercial. The dog wasn't lost...he was sold to a new family, but the dog didn't know that and tried to get back to his old home.
Oh yes it was. The name of the commercial is "Lost Dog" and it begins with the puppy falling out of a truck.

The dog got lost...after he was sold to his new owners. You are logical...why would someone create a website to sell a dog that was lost?
I no longer have any idea what the commercial was about.

They lose money by taking good care of the dogs and doing every kind of test available for problems that can be inherited. Backyard breeders don't take their dogs to the vet or feed high-quality dog food.

You definitely are missing something. It is all about the implication, not the intent, that makes dog lovers mad.

Read the link I posted in the OP.

My point is the commercial doesn't seem like the problem in this situation.

The problem is the
implication, not the purpose. What don't you understand about that?

Because I don't see in any way how it implies that. People are too sensitive in my opinion. Get over it. That's my point. I get why they removed the commercial from the company's view, too much negative reaction doesn't do them good. What I don't get is the negative reaction. Particularly the one quote in the article.

I give up trying to explain how it does imply that. Accept the fact that other people see it even if you don't and, because they do, it was smart for Go Daddy to pull the ad.

You should accept your own advice in this post, JW. I respect your opinion but I don't think the commercial implies what you say it does. This isn't a complicated matter.

I am just echoing the complaints that led to the commercial being pulled.

That's not all you're doing.
So apparently the commercial was a play on Budweiser's puppy commercial.

Meaning it was done in jest JW.
Wow - I think I now see why the commercial was pulled. If the people here can't come to a conclusion as to what the ad is even about, it might be time to shoot a new spot.
Go Daddy has to love the amount of publicity in some sense. Usually they are known for sleazy commercials. Now they're getting serious - taking on puppies!
Quote:So?
The dog is Danica Patrick.
Prostitution.
They're using it in the Phillipines as an ad for grocery delivery.
Monday...Chinese ( Sharpei)
Tuesday.. German ( Shepherd)
Wednesday ... Italian ( greyhound )
Thursday ....French ( poodle)
Friday.. English ( Setter )
Saturday...Soul ( black lab)
Sunday...Mexican ( Chihuahua )

People are talking about the ad more now than they would have after the Super Bowl.
People know what the commercial is about....they just don't think its a big deal.
