How did he end up as the Jacksonville member on the Hall of Fame Committee?
Look at the list of voters.

A strong list of NFL writers. Guys who have been around the game for decades. And then there is a sports director from an independent T Vstation in Jacksonville. A guy who spends more time covering high school sports than NFL football. Sam stands out like a sore thumb.
Better than any of those 1010 guys
Because he was the sports anchor for channel 4 which was the original flagship station for the jags.
Why was/is George Bush/Obummer president?

Yup. When he was added to the list, that was a determining factor. I guess this is a big deal to the OP. Who would he prefer have that vote? Vito?
When Vic was in Jacksonville, was he the Jacksonville representative on the Pro Football HOF Committee?
Based on reading and listening to Vic over the last decade +, he would have seemed to be the ideal choice when he was working in Jax. Especially, when factoring in his knowledge of NFL history.
Well he hasn't been able to bang the table hard enough to get Tony Boselli into the HoF yet.

Thats because he doesnt believe Boselli should be in the hall of fame

That alone is enough for me to say he shouldn't have a vote. :teehee:
Just ask him, he'll be glad to tell you why.
after he tells you who he knows

It's always been Kouvaris.

And tell you and tell you and tell you again. And then talk about how he once smoked a cigar next to Chi Chi Rodriguez and Alice Cooper.

Thanks for the info.
I'm surprised that Vic's vast knowledge base was apparently not seeked by the Pro Football HOF Committee.

Vic worked for the JAGS so i dont think he was eligible

I think they picked based on who had the biggest ego and Kouvaris had the biggest of them all.
Fortunately he had to go through a little ego check when his station lost their CBS affiliation. The pompous rear end was pretty much marginalized in the sports world besides keeping his HOF vote.

Vic's problem is he has worked for NFL teams like Jags and now Packers... At least the NFL HOF has a committee that takes its job seriously... They meet together to work through the lists... The MLB just has writers even some that don't cover baseball regularly anymore and none from electronic media like Bob Costas... When the Jags came into the league, there had to be someone from this market and he was it... Vito is also on the committee from his work in other cities before he came to town...

Great point.
Until looking at the list of the Committee, I didn't realize that none are employees of an NFL team.

Is he still part of the Jaguars TV pre-season network?
