Shhhhh. No one wants to hear that.

Hell no if we can't produce 6 wins or more then he needs to go
Yeah, us passing over J.J. Watt still stings . One can dream, thats true, but I truly believe that we will have ONE of the best teams in the league soon. Well i think it will show sooner than many people anticipate. I believe that this team is currently closer than most think

Yeah! We settled for mediocrity with JDR, why not settled with being the joke of the NFL, right?  :woot:

Quote:Caldwell didnt draft blackmon Jean Smiffs did

Oh yeah.... my bad.

Mediocrity would save Gus is job at this point.
We might have great coaches, but do we even have one single top-tier player?

We have some decent DL, and WR, but blanks at RB and OL.

Bortles regressed as the season went on and I personally would draft either Winston or mariotta if

available... Wash did it with RG3 and still tanked.

Face facts, there is absolutely no draw here to entice top line Free Agents.

Quote:I always wondered what would have happened had the Jaguars selected Terrell Suggs instead of Byron Leftwich in 2003, and then got Ben Roethlisberger at #9 in 2004 instead of Reggie Williams.

I remember reading if the Ravens had been able to trade up (the Vikings failed to get it done in 15 minutes), they would have picked Byron Leftiwch. So it was not like we reached for him. He was going to be a top 10 pick. What if he was a Raven? Then maybe we would have had Terrell Suggs -  if we actually needed a linebacker that year.

Quote:We could got Aaron Rodgers in 2005 instead of dope-head Matt Jones.

Or better yet, JJ Watt at #10 in 2011 instead of Blaine Gabbert.

First you wish we drafted Ben Roethlisberger in 2004. If we did that we would not need to pick Aaron Rodgers in 2005. Pick one quarterback you wish we drafted. Also explain why our first round pick in either year should have been a quarterback instead of a better wide receiver. Yes, Reggie Williams and Matt Jones were bad picks. But the real mistake was which receivers we picked, not passing on a quarterback (pun not intended) to fill a need. Were there not other wide receivers selected in the first round?

Actually we would have stayed at #16 and drafted Ryan Kerrigan, then had a second round pick for J.J. Watt. At the time Kerrigan was projected to be our pick at #16. Nobody expected Watt to be the BAP then or projected him to go first IIRC.

Don't forget in 2012 we would have stopped Russell Wilson's fall in Round 3 after not getting a quarterback the year before too - then picked a different punter in Round 5 after missing out on Bryan Anger.
Quote:Heck, what if Caldwell drafted Luke Kuechly instead of Justin Blackmon?

Don't you just love 20/20 hindsight?

Uh, Gene Smith drafted Justin Blackmon. And at the time it looked like a brilliant trade because we only had to give up a fourth round pick. Could anybody have known one DUI would lead to a couple more plus an indefinite suspension? Probably not.

Not sure about Luke Kuechy. The linebackers David Caldwell drafted later have been good so far and we still had Poz two years ago.

Rumor also had it that Del Rio loved Suggs. The QB idea comes from the thought that if the Jaguars went with Suggs instead of Leftwich, they would have needed a QB in later drafts and probably would have drafted Roethlisberger or Rodgers.

You lost me with the second round pick for JJ Watt??? Watt was going to be an early first rounder no matter what. His combine stats were elite.

Quote:What if we actually have one of the best coaching staffs in the league? One of the best front offices, marketing and one of the best owners in the league? One of the best cities, stadiums one of the best teams and just all around organizations, but we just don't know it because it has yet to mature? We haven't won, and so therefore none of the best has come to fruition just yet. Really, i'd just like to take this time to wonder what this team may have been had Brian Anger's name would have been Russell Wilson. Oh well. Hygiene
What if I won the mega-lottery? What if an asteroid hit J'ville tomorrow? What if, what if?

There is plenty to entice top line free agents.... The weather, the beaches, no state tax, being part of an up and coming team.. and free ice cream ... with sprinkles if they win, because sprinkles are for winners !!!

Wilson is your "What if?".... You think he would be lighting it up on this team? Dude just hands the ball off and lets the defense do the work. They should have lost last week but the TE didn't do his job and block and then dropped the ball on the onside kick.

Wilson is good but he's not the biggest what if.... The biggest What if is if we sucked for Luck and actually got him.
Do you realize Wilson has a 96.3 passer rating in the playoffs (even with last week factored in) ?

what if Baltimore got the expansion team and The Browns moved to Jville? We'd have 2 SB titles AND Suggs.

See, we can do what ifs all day long.

too funny .... we'd have Justin Forsett, Eugene Monroe, and Daryl Smith.

What if Baltimore got the expansion team, Houston got the Browns, and Jville got the next expansion team.

We'd have JJ Watt, but we'd also be Tinhorn fans.
The Houston expansion team would have been cool.  We would have obtained Tony Boselli for 2 years via the expansion draft and his name would be in our Ring of Honor without even playing a down.

I don't think we'd be called the Texans.

What if we would have gotten the TB expansion team back in 1975.
