On organizing an off-season passing camp:

“I’ve talked to everybody and everybody’s in,” Bortles said. “I’m headed out to [San Diego] pretty soon to start training. Anybody that runs routes and catches passes [will be invited].”

This is awesome to hear
Quote:Bust potential is getting high, or should I say seats are getting hot?
This is pretty silly.

I don't see where the "bust potential is getting high" at all.

I see a rookie QB who did what was expected this year based on where he was at in his progression.  It's stupid to think he's on the verge of being a bust based on what we saw last year, especially if you put things into proper perspective and look at what he was working with out there.  Just stupid.

seriously. He broke multiple rookie and team records.... yup def going to be a bust
At the end of the day, you're right. It all falls on Bortles. Do I trust Gus & Dave ? Yes. Realistically their first option was Trestman, but who wouldn't go to Baltimore over the Jags? Adam Gase was probably the second option but everyone seems to be passing on the dude. He must be sketchy or something is off about him, no one wants him lol. Bortles cannot really do any worse than this year unless he gets injured. Let's just improves the offensive line play, protect him. Everyone gets a year older and more gelled together. And hopefully, with our plan, our defence gets improved into becoming a real top defence in this league. A good defence is a good offence IE Seattle. Dave & Gus have to work their magic via free agency & the draft boys and girls. Olson, do your thang and prove everyone wrong.

Also if he's focusing on his mechanics during that passing camp, which I'm sure he will be, that's going to do wonders of setting in that muscle memory

right on.

I will not spend the next several months depressed about the jags when we haven't played even ONE game with these guys in place.

I choose to be optimistic.and I can find plenty of reasons to feel optimistic

lol. Ikr?

I see the opposite happening.

I see us kicking a** next year.

and Blake kicking a** next year
I think we need to focus on defense while Bortles gains experience...

Big Ben and Flaco ran conservative offenses for years with an elite defense before putting up big offensive numbers. Russell Wilson seems to be on a similar path.

I think Bortles has shown if you keep the game close he can be clutch at the end.

It will take 5 or 6 years for Blake to reach his full potential, and the dude will still only be 27 in five years.

The first time Roethlisberger did not have a top ten defense in his career was 2013. 5 times he had the number one defense.

^^^^ great posts^^^^

Idk why so many people call guys busts after 1 year lol.

it's almost like they're just gonna be pessimistic regardless of anything???

I choose to be optimistic.and I think there's a really good chance that our team wins a good part of our games next year.

and I believe the defense will lead the way
