Quote:Why the attack at the end?

Did you know when people say, "It's the _____, stupid," it is not an attack on the reader? I used that expression with the word coaches. Sorry if it offended you.

That said, it is frustrating as usual that other posters keep acting like Blake Bortles is unfixable after seeing what he did in 2015.
Regardless of what Dave Caldwell or anyone else in the Jaguars brass says publicly,  what happens in 2017 will very likely determine Blake Bortles future with the Jaguars in 2018 and beyond.  Action will be much louder than words.

I wonder how hog-tied Dave had Gus over the roster. The power structure I don't believe has ever been laid bare.

Glaring examples of Dave mandating who plays:

Beachum "winning" the "competition" at LT despite not being physically able to compete.

Joekel "winning" the "competition" for LG despite being terrible and guys like Reed looking better in preseason snaps.
Very possible...IF... we don't start keeping track of the score until the 4th quarter.
Quote:Negitive. Watch us make a strong push for Tyrod.
Blake Bortles can't take us to a Super Bowl but Tyrod Taylor can...lol

the joeckel/beachum competition was a farce imo. I dont think they ever believed there was a chance beachum could ever start at LG in the first place. They knew they wanted to move luke over.
Quote:How do you sure up a full, top to bottom house cleaning? Make a strong push for Tyrod Taylor.. L M A O !!!
Taylor is alot better then blake. Sorry, but it is true.

He just had to deal with tons of injuries to receivers. Blake still.... has a very strong learning curve ahead of him.

Can he turn it around? Sure.

If he works as hard as he can. And does not party at all all offseason.

Yes, we will bring in someone. Tom will not jepordise his first year. On Blake alone. Watch n see.

He played behind. The majority of the season. So he had leniant defenses. A good example is NE. They did not let up all game long. We got blown out.
Quote:The Bills only have to restructure his contract, not cut him and start over, if they want to keep him in Buffalo. That is probably what will happen.

While it could..... All signs in Buffalo is that will not happen. And if Tyrod does not want too. It wont as well.

Now they could tag him. But highly doubt that as well.
Quote:If only it was that simple huh..
Simple or not, it's the truth.
Well we got a 6th round pick for Blaine Gabbert. Anyone wanna play over/under on what we get for BBINT after this year? Let's say round 6.5, you over or under?

It's on Tom, now. We know what Dave thinks, that why he was demoted

Dave Caldwell was demoted?  I haven't seen that story yet.  All I've seen so far is that he has a new boss.
I'm still trying to picture Bortles leading the Jags to a winning record during the regular season and I haven't been able to do that yet and neither has Bortles.

for the record, they can not.

With this coaching staff? Hahahahahahaha

I think he's worth a 4 or 5. He'd be a great back up in somebodies system.

At least we can all agree he's better that Gabbert, so he's got that going for himself. Which is nice...
