If every team responded, who would he be a fan of then? And if every team responded to every letter they got from a kid... they'd never have enough time to do anything else.

I'd say the worse story is that story about the 10 year old who won a contest at the Cowboys/Lions game, but the MC saw that he was wearing a Lions jersey and decided to redo the contest.

Quote:

Roman and his family made the trip from Amarillo to Arlington, TX. Before the game started Roman participated in a contest that was being held on one of the stages outside of the stadium. The game was musical chairs and the last person to get a chair would win a brand new PS4 Madden game. Roman ended up being the winner, but when the MC noticed he had a Detroit Lions jersey on she asked to do it all over again because he was a Detroit Lions fan.

After they made Roman complete a re-do of musical chairs, the other guy Roman went against won this time — and, yes, he was a Dallas Cowboys fan. The MC said they both would receive prizes. The staff gave Roman a Batman DVD and handed the other guy the PS4 Madden game.

Roman’s family then talked to the staff and after 10 minutes they handed Roman a Led Zeppelin CD. First of all, Roman won the contest fair and square. Second, what would a 10-year-old do with a Led Zeppelin CD? The family said, “It’s not about the prizes, it’s about how they cheated Roman out because he was a Lions fan.”

In my opinion, it was plain wrong what the Cowboys staff did to this 10-year-old boy and how they handled it. People should be able cheer for whatever team of their choice and still get treated fairly. C’mon really, to a 10-year-old!
Quote:You're telling me that Khan or Mark Lamping couldn't take 5 or 10 mins out of their day to write a playful return letter to a kid? Then why was Jerry Richardson the only one to write back?

I know at the end of the day this doesn't matter, but I would expect Khan and Co to have more courtesy than this. Maybe its really just me but I would have been more than willing to write back to this kid if I was in their shoes.
Lol wow.

I honestly thought you were joking.
Boo friggin hoo
Quote:You're entitled to your opinion, but I disagree. If these teams really do get so much mail then why did Jerry Richardson and the Panthers reply? Afterall, they probably get as much mail as any other team out there and Richardson still took time out of his day to reply. Do you even have any official statistics on how much mail NFL teams actually get?

It seems like its okay to criticize the players and Bradley, but if there's so much as a tiny negative remark about Khan or the management, everyone gets defensive.

Think about this: Suppose the kid's mail was at or near the top of Jerry Richardson's pile and other owners did not see it because of how far down the pile it was. In that scenario, Richardson was the first to know he got mail from a kid.

Not necessarily. You don't know what he wrote to the teams about.

Years ago I wrote to Bengals owner Mike Brown. Do you think that made me a Bengals fan?

I wonder what I would say if I wrote something to the Jaguars....

"We need Bryan Bulaga and Randall Cobb."

Well thank goodness we had you to clear that up.

I knew I was good for something.

At least you think so.
It's not like this kid is dying of cancer.

I'm sure he would eventually get his form response just like the thousands of other healthy kids who send out fan letters to various entities every year. I'm not sure why this kid thinks he should be treated special.

The only difference is all the other kid's parents don't turn it into a publicity stunt.

I think 12 is way past being old enough to learn you aren't entitled to crap.

LOL Well you know how I became a Jaguars fan.

I try not to think about it.

If only....

I just try not to think. It's easier that way.

Right?! It's better if folks think you can't do stuff.

Apparently my strategy isn't working too well.

I have two meetings today with the CFO.

He'll want me to do stuff, for sure.

People always want me to do stuff. It's like a job or something.

Don't let him fool ya. CFO isn't even a real name. Make sure to point that out to him over and over throughout the meeting. Maybe even shout it a few times in ALL CAPS and tell the man how ashamed he should be for not responding to a 12 year old's letter, even though he isn't a real person since CFO isn't a real name.
