Is he really the best QB in the game, though? Peyton Manning and Brady are better for sure, Brees probably is as well, but it's tough to come up with a fourth guy, and all but impossible to come up with anyone his age who's better than he is.

Aaron Rodgers is probably the best QB in today's NFL.

In terms of the younger QB's,   Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson probably lead the way.    Luck is ideal for the Colts.   Wilson is ideal for the Seahawks.
Of course I'd forget about Aaron Rodgers.

Wilson is a promising young QB. He has the #1 defense (#1 pass defense, #3 rush defense) and the #1 rushing offense. I wonder how good he'd be without having all of this help.

yes, he definitely has a stacked team but he don't have any elite WRs.

He'd be good. But he wouldn't look as good as he does with Seattle and he certainly wouldn't be deserving of the highest salary in the league.
He will be until Andrew Luck gets paid

This.

And then in a year or two some other QB (probably a veteran QB like Brees or Big Ben) will get paid more. With cap going up over the next 2 or 3 years that's totally expected.

Is Wilson worth being the highest-paid QB? I don't know, but what else should we do? It's hard to find a franchise QB and when you get one, you keep him. We had him for a bargain over the last 3 years and now he'll get what he deserves. And I would also 1000 times rather pay Wilson then Dalton, Cutler, Kaep and probably another 20-25 QBs in this league. Like already mentioned, he's a perfect QB for our system.

You do realize he put up almost 1000 yards rushing himself right? It's a cycle just like Brady or Flacco. The team is defensive now and in about a year or twoo they will start to invest in weapons and then he will start putting up the numbers.

His stats are whats keeping people from recognizing his ability. If you watch the games you'll see this guy making throws that only the elites make.
Id take russel over almost anybody in the nfl
Im not sure he is the top QB but he is no doubt been one of the best over the last few seasons. He has been a great bargain for the hawks until now, time to pay the man.

He does fit them very well and I wonder how things will turn out once they start getting him some weapons?

He deserves to be paid top 5 money but Idk about "highest paid".

Russell defies what we think of as a great QB. If you are only looking at Wilson stats than your really missing out on what a great player he is.

You do realize that I never said he was bad, right? He wasn't exactly lighting it up on the west coast. My point was that he benefits from having a lot of help, and I'd be interested in seeing how much he could do with out all that.
Remembering what the Seahawks QB situation was like for a number of years before they drafted Russell Wilson should go along way in Wilson striking financial paydirt in the Emerald City.

I think because of the team he's on it's hard to know how much of his play is inflated, there's one thing I will say about him though he does what the team needs him to do extremely well. He definitely has an incredible football iq and he doesn't cost them games.

I think he would look good, not as good in any other team.
