Quote:Whoa...$50M guaranteed? I feel like we can get two very good starters for what Suh's gonna be looking for.
The Jaguars are so flushed with cap space, and don't have anyone on the current roster thats going require a large amount of guaranteed money extension-wise anytime soon. They could easily afford Suh, they (and the Raiders) are in the best position(s) to land him.

In a division that features Andrew Luck, it'd be wise to acquire big time talent on the defensive line, we have the best cap situation in football.

We can afford Suh, that's not the question. The question is, do we want to? $50M guaranteed would have covered Alex Mack's ENTIRE contract offer that we made + another starter. And that's just his guaranteed money.

that kind of money i would rather get a Top veteran WR in

He would cost a fortune, and while he's a great player he's also an a**. I doubt he comes here though.

Rotoworld just reported as much as 10 teams are willing to pitch a lot of money for Suh, seeing as how he will not be returning to the Lions. We all know we have a ton of cap space and Dave is willing to spend it. Makes a lot of sense.
<p style="background-color:transparent;">Sources tell Yahoo Sports as many as 10 teams are prepared to make "titanic pitches" to impending free agent Ndamukong Suh.
Per reporter Charles Robinson, that includes the Jaguars, Browns and Raiders, who are projected to have the most cap space this offseason. The Jets and Falcons could also be in the mix. Robinson reports the Lions are open to the franchise tag even though it would cost an otherworldly $26.7 million. The Lions would have to undertake all sorts of cap wizardry to make that number work. Detroit knows it would be foolish to let Suh get away, but the financial particulars make it a real possibility.

Now that is a good question. Should Caldwell sign Suh? He certainly is a passionate dude (to his undoing sometimes). I guess if that hotShot DT in the draft isn't who you think, Maybe get Suh? Him and Marks would dominate everything. Id rather sign someone with that kind of impact on the offensive side of the ball

Titans are gonna take Williams so Suh should be the move. Draft Ray and see what Pierre Paul is talking about and you really got something to play with for once.

I can pretty much guarantee the Jags wouldn't have extended Marks if they had serious plans about acquiring Sun.
01-06-2015, 07:48 PM
For what Suh will cost, I would rather pick up 2-3 other quality starters for the same price.
01-06-2015, 07:51 PM
While it's nice to get mentioned, I just don't see it happening.
It would cost way way too much money and the Jags really need to focus on the offensive side of the ball, while adding complimentary players to the defense.

Suh and Marks lined up together. WOW

I feel Suh might end up like Albert Haynesworth. Perhaps not, but their situations are eerily similar. I like Suh's production, but if I'm Dave/Gus, I'd stay away given the baggage and price tag that comes with him. Plus, I think the locker room culture is a positive for this team and I don't see Suh buying in the way others have.
It's certainly risk vs reward. Ultimately I will trust their opinion though as I like what the jags have done post Mularky. I know not everyone feels this way and I wouldn't fault them for that, just my opinion

I'm more on this level. Find a star player through the draft

Everyone keeps talking about Marks like is torn ACL won't affect him. They also keep talking like he'll be playing.
But won't that injury keep Marks out till next October?
