It's a joke guy relax [Image: thanks.gif]
Quote:He hasn't developed as expected. He'll face tough competition for his roster spot this year from street acquisitions like Benn, possibly a draft choice as well.

You think a washed up, oft injured Benn can beat out Ace? Gene is that you?

Can he catch though?

I never said that. I said that there would be a lot of competition for Ace's roster spot, and after the year he had, I don't see how you could argue that he's safe from all comers.
arrelious benn's name reminds me of armon binns and how good i thought the other WR that was there at cincinatti at the same time was gonna be and now i dont remember his name.

he was a multipurpose guy. anyone help here?

He was actually playing for the Jacksonville Sharks of the Arena Football League last season.
Did anyone know that there is a connection between Arrelious Benn and the Jags?

Benn had two good seasons with the Buccaneers, which were his rookie year 2010 and the following year 2011.

In 2010 Benn had 25 receptions

In 2011 Benn had 30 receptions

His QB was Josh Freeman

but did you know his Offensive Coordinator was and here is the current connection

... wait for it

...

Greg Olson when he was with the Bucs from 2008 to 2011

Could Olson have had some input in this signing before he became the O.C.?

Interesting!
Illinois guy. Rated 2nd round coming of out college iirc. Maybe Jerry can help him?
Conspiracy Theory thread, part deux.....

If we sign a Randall Cobb or Torey Smith in FA and Blackmon comes back the WR battle will be fun to watch in camp this year.

Doubt it. This guy is a street free agent.

You need bodies if you're planning on letting Shorts walk. Sanders hasn't done much outside of special teams as well. And you still have a lot of guys returning from injuries in year two. I still want us to draft Amari Cooper with the third overall selection in a few months though.

I already forgot we signed this guy.

Wide receiver Arrelious Benn signed a two-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Yahoo! Sports' Rand Getlin. Benn was released earlier this year by the Eagles and while he received several workouts, he was out of the league for the rest of the season.

from your link above...

I tend to watch a lot of Eagles games as it is my wifes family's favorite team being from that area, and I honestly have a hard time remembering who this guy is so hard to get excited about this news.....

GM Dave Caldwell did say in a press confrerence (to the effect not exact words) that the team has no real WR standout, so even though all of the WRs look hopeful the rest of the NFL doesnt see it like us fans do as far as the great talent at WR on the team....

just saying ..

I heard on NFL Radio that Vegas odds have the Jaguars at last with the Raiders being a 200 to 1 odds of winning the Superbowl this upcoming season...

sad thing is how many die hard fans would put their money where thier mouth is and put up big money ......

I personally dont gamble and i dont put too much into vegas odds but I feel that it shows us fans what the rest of the world thinks about our favorite team.
