I know that the Jags aren't that competitive right now, but are the Jags so embarrassing to lose to that coaches and owners want to fire everyone? Any given Sunday right?

I think it more to do with losing after being up 21-0.

Didnt see this, just made a thread about it.  Thought it was funny

Remember last year? We beat three teams and they all fired their coaches, so a slogan on this board became, "Lose to the Jaguars; fire your coach."  Of course that did not happen this year, but it was funny.

What I don't understand is why in the world didn't John Mara fire everyone? While Rex Ryan, Mike Smith, andf Marc Trestman got pink slips, Tom Coughlin was told he is safe for at least one more year.
^ no the slogan is "Lose to Gus, you're on the Bus"

Loyal to a fault. The Super Bowl wins are in the past. Why hold on to a guy who has showed nothing for years? Worse still, they were never world beaters, even when they won those Super Bowls, they were underdogs and low seeded teams.
Y'all get off Tom. He turned OBJr in to a top 3 WR in his rookie year with Eli Manning tossing the ball. Their offense was improved after the Jags game. Coughlin will turn them around next season I think.

We fired Tom after a couple bad seasons; all he did was go on to win 2 Super Bowls.
Even taking Tom Coughlin's past success out of the equation,  one of the major benefits of the Giants retaining him for the 2015 season is they won't have to change Offensive Coordinator's/ Offensive Systems for the 3rd straight season.

Corrected the quote to make in more in line with what he was thinking.
I think that the winning streak to close out the season saved Tom. I am certain that if Coughlin hadn't won two bowls he would have been fired after losing to us with our 2nd worst offense in the league. So the rings bought him time, and the teams late winning streak bought him another year in my opinion. But Coughlin is all but a lame duck at this point, he will probably retire after next year no matter what happens and I believe his contract is up then anyhow...
