Full Version: Energy Independence Returning To America

The honorable President Trump has issued executive orders to reverse vetos that his predecessor issued. Those vetos, against the will of the American people, stopped construction of the Keystone pipeline and Dakota access pipeline. The construction of those pipelines will go forward full steam as intended.

TransCanada will have to re-apply for the pipeline, but the process is viewed as a minor administrative bump in the road.

In a statement KXL issued the following:

Quote:"KXL creates thousands of well-paying construction jobs and would generate tens of millions of dollars in annual property taxes to counties along the route as well as more than $3 billion to the U.S. GDP"

This certainly ends the lunacy that the pipeline would only create 35 jobs, which was the standard talking point of President Trump's predecessor.

This is the first step in a series of many steps which will return this country to energy independence, and the greatness that it once was before the liberal devastation it has endured for the better part of the past decade.

Americans will see the results at the gas pump, on their electric bills, and in the form of trickle down savings. What a great day for America!

It sure doesn't hurt that he has stock in it either.....
You mean the stock he sold back in early December?

You can't expect liberals to rely on facts. They rely strictly on feelings.

"Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks did not say if he also sold his shares of Phillips 66, which has a smaller investment in the project."

From your article.

You don't put all of your eggs in one basket. If you have and can afford the investment funds, you invest and you diversify. Anyone knows that and I guarantee you that Trump probably has stock in many many companies. And just because he were to own shares in a company doesn't mean he's strictly rewarding contracts to companies that he owns shares in. That's just dumb..

Non-story as usual..

They are pulling information from a May 2016 financial disclosure. As of today there is no proof showing he does not still maintain an interest in DAPL.

Also we have this:

Quote:Trump owned ETP stock through at least mid-2016, according to financial disclosure forms, and ETP's chief executive, Kelcy Warren, donated $100,000 to his campaign. U.S. Energy Secretary nominee Rick Perry was until recently on ETP's board.

Does not liking Trump make one a liberal?  Is that how you define "liberal?"

Uhh.. your buddy Newt Gingrich was the one who said Feelings are more important than facts.

There's only black and white my man.

You're either a liberal or you love Trump. No other opinion matters.

"alternative facts"

Lefties always struggle with truth and reality.
Oil imports reached an all time high in the Bush administration.  In 2008, we imported about 3.5 billion barrels of oil.   During the Obama administration, domestic oil production rose rapidly to the point where, in 2015, we imported about 2.6 billion barrels of oil.

https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHa...rimus1&f=a

Domestic oil production in the last year of the Bush administration was 5 billion barrels, and during the Obama administration it rose to 9.4 billion barrels in 2015.

https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHa...RFPUS2&f=A

Do the math.  In the last year of the Bush administration, we imported about 44% of the oil we consumed.   In the last year of the Obama administration, we imported about 22% of the oil we consumed.

So this trend towards energy independence is largely a product of the OBAMA administration.
So 0bama really was for the pipeline?

He really didn't abuse 1953 law to declare off shore drilling off-limits?

He really didn't abuse the Antiquities act to snatch 1.6 MILLION acres of land?

Again, he's put barriers in place that stunts current and future growth.

The only reason we produced what we did, was that OPEC was flooding the market with low barrel prices.  Once prices dropped enough to where it made economic sense to drill... we did.  It had absolutely nothing to do with US oil policy.

Okay, I get it. Anything good that happened in the last 8 years was in spite of Obama, and anything good that happens in the next 4 years will be entirely to the credit of Trump.

But he fought fracking and such tooth and nail. In this case it truly is an in spite of situation.
