With us and Oakland being set at the Qb position, we've essentially lost our ability to trade down with a team looking to draft Jameis. If anything, the Redskins are the first real threat for a QB, so teams are going to talk to Oakland about a possible trade to jump in front of the skins. Realistically, I dont the skins are real serious. Jameis falls to the jets if he gets past Tennessee.

The only scenario I see us trading down is if Mariota/Jameis go 1/2 and someone really wants Williams. I dont think anyone would give up the picks for Cooper/DE with such a deep WR/DE class.

I am against trading with anybody unless we get an offer that is too good to pass up.

This is pure brilliance. You could win an election with a slogan like this.
We really don't know, Tampa will probably pick a QB but Tennessee could just as easily think they got their QB of the future already and need so much help elsewhere and either seek to trade out or pick something else. If either Winston or Mariota are still on the board who knows the Jets are going to probably be desperate with a new coach and GM rounding out teams in the top 10 that may want a new QB the Bears and the Giants if they get a new coach might want to go a different route.

LOL What kind of slogan would that be?

"I love to be number three."

The Titans may want to trade down for more picks, but must remember they will play against the guy we pick twice a year. Last year we all worried about who the Texans will pick knowing that will happen to us. If the Titans think we want to get a player who will give them a hard time every year, they would be stupid to trade the #2 pick. If I was the Titans, I would pick the BAP at #2 just to keep him out of Jacksonville.
So we tanked too good and got ahead of oakland. Dagnabit!
The QB's are going 1-2 anyway No one is going to trade up to 3 for anything else.

Oh well, take Leonard Williams and be happy.

I would be very happy

Well I dunno.

I think part of the problem is that Winston did not have a good year, on and off the field.

Teams will have to do a lot of homework on him and be very confident.

I don't know if teams would be willing to trade up for Winston.

Had he not had any off field stuff this year and not had so many games where he struggled-especially against UF-I think there would be a much bigger market for him.
It's not impossible.

The Bears, Rams, Cardinals and even the Eagles might be in the market for a QB.

I agree that it hurts us to have the Raiders picking below us, because anyone wanting a trade for Winston can play us off against each other.

But it's possible the Raiders would want a player like Cooper and that a team lacking a real WR threat could want to grab him before they can

(Buffalo were desperate enough to trade for Watkins last year).
I can see the vikings trading up with us so they could grab copper. If they offer us their first, second and sixth I would take it. Heck, for their first and second sounds pretty good too.
Someone will trade up for cooper. Book it
Yeah with oakland wanting a stud WR at this point in time, I could see a team trading up to us to take cooper. Its clearly still early so anything can happen.

At this point I dont think Winston goes in the top 5(I dont believe jets would trade up nor do I think the titans take him) but again anything can happen.

Winston will go #1.

With so long to go until the draft it's too early to "book" anything. Players we thought were certain to go in the top five will go out of favour (Gregory ?) and others will appear out of nowhere.

But Cleveland proved at the last draft that you can get a great trade if someone is desperate enough.
Unless winston goes off the charts in the offseason and proves himself to be an ideal qb prospect and that he has grown up his personal issues will slide him to the end of the first beginning of the second.

you have to think tampa go mariota and tenessee go williams.

Both of them are pretty perfect fits for their needs.

Tampa have the building blocks but need a qb and mariota looks like a potential franchise guy, not my type of qb but if they can manage him well maybe.

Tennessee will give mettenberger a shot next year or trade for cutler. adding Leonard williams next to casey in that 3-4 would give them one of the most disruptive front 3's in the league. Ray could also be their edge rusher is they preferred to go that way but i think williams is too good to pass up.

Only trades I can see is someone trying to hop oakland for amari cooper or atlanta trying to hop up to grab an edge rusher if they fall in love with gregory or ray

I think Tennessee is looking seriously at drafting Cooper. If they indeed are high on Mettenberger they might be looking to trade out of that spot with someone wanting Winston which would leave us without a trading partner.

Regards......................the Chiefjag

Would the Chiefs be interested in making a big move up? If they covet Cooper or one of the QBs it would make sense to move up ahead of the Raiders who would not be interested in dealing with a division rival.

That type of a move would cost a mountain of picks including future first rounder(s) so definitely unlikely. Dream big I guess.
