Interesting. I didn't pay attention to the game, but seems they pulled their starters in 2nd half with a big lead?
On one hand, glad it was done to not give the tacks their pick of the litter, but this is a head scratcher for those who are certain teams don't tank.
Makes a lot of sense for them to tank for someone like Mariota.
Not as bad as Jim Irsay did, at least they made it look convincing
wow did they really say screw it and toss in their back ups? That smells of tanking...
Lovie Smith said, "We need help. And we will be able to pick from the best." I take that to mean he likes having the top pick of the draft and was trying to lose.
This should call for an investigation of some sort. Admission to tanking could lead to an NBA type lotto.
NBA teams tank more than NFL teams do
They so bad, we'll never know for sure lol

Roger Goodell should call it "taking away integrity of the game" and give Tenmessee the top pick of the draft.
Wow, never seen blatant tanking before. That's bold, but what does that say to the current players? You suck? Lol

The quarterbacks know they suck because Lovie Smith changed heads several times. Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson both gained over 1,000 yards, so obviously they just need a good quarterback to score more touchdowns.
You are right about blatant tanking. What happened yesterday cannot be interpreted as simply being a bad team. But why would they want to do it at home against a divisional opponent? That does not make any sense.

100%

You don't need a lottery.
Just do like I've been saying needs to be done since the colts tank job: Base draft order on the team record over the last three seasons instead of only the previous one.
Bad teams should be helped by not having to worry about one or two meaningless wins at the end of a season screwing them up and great teams shouldn't be allowed a free run at another 15 seasons of success with another potential hall of fame QB just because they tanked in the right season.

They are denying it, but how can you explain having a 13pt lead at home and pulling many of your starters....including your 2 JUMBO WR's, and 3 starting OL? You can't. That's a bold-faced lie. There is only one plausible excuse. They knew winning would mean the Titans would pick their choice at QB, and Tampa didn't want that to happen.
The Titans organization should ask the league to revoke nullify the Bucs No.1 position and put them right where they were heading into the game....behind the Titans, at No.2. Pulling your starters just minutes to go in the entire season, with a 13pt lead is blatant capitulation, and that sort of conduct should not be rewarded by the league.

Their denying it is even more shady than the act itself.
Is he even trying to give a "real" explanation of why he pulled all the starters?
So, the tacks got out tanked? Lol clots outtanked the skins too.
Let me get this straight....the Titans are mad that they sucked just a little less than Tampa?
There is no way the NFL will do a thing. Unless Tampa was dumb enough to send email/text to one another about tanking before the game they will never have proof that it was done intentionally.

Yep...clots set the precedent. Tankings are going to be more frequent from now on.
Now, lets just hope the tacks outsmart themselves and take something other than a QB. Then we will have 2 rivals with no franchise QB.
I do think the NFL should investigate. It goes right to the integrity of the game. They should also see if the Saints tried to tank to screw their division-mates out of the 1st pick. How else do the Bucs score 20 in a half LOL?
