Tony boselli, hands down. He handled the greats, JJ Watt would fall like the rest.

This would indeed by a tremendous matchup. Arguably, the best players at their respective positions during their playing time frame. I would probably give Tony Boselli a slight edge at this time, based on how his career transpired. But J.J..Watt probably hasn't reached his peak yet. It will likely remain a close call either way.

P.S. Tony B hands down.

Dan Wilkerson was the only lineman over 300 lbs. to record a sack against Boselli, and I think it was more Brunell's fault than Boselli's. Either way, if you weren't fast enough, and Boselli put his hands on you, you weren't going to beat him.
Boselli takes this one.
Boselli takes this one.

Still JJ Watt is a beast he would find a way.

Physically, J.J. Watt probably peaked. But Watt might even be better in the next 2 to 4 years, when considering the added experience that he should continue to gain.
When it comes to Defensive players, Watt is in a very special class. Much like Tony Boselli was regarding LT's. The only LT I've seen play that I would probably rank ahead of Boselli in terms of Boselli's best few seasons, is another former USC Tackle, Bengals LT Anthony Munoz.

Boselli in his prime vs. Watt in his prime? I'd give it to Boselli by a hair, simply because he dominated the best defensive ends in the NFL when he was at his best.

Agreed.
Watt does a spectacular job sitting back and defending passes when he's unable to get to the QB. When he gets tired or beat, he'll just sit back and swat the ball down. He'll only get better at this as his physical abilities get worse.

Since Reggie White, I can't think of a Defensive Lineman that makes as many plays in so many different ways than J.J. Watt. What you described is a large part of why I think he's an elite player. The combination of Watt's athletic ability, effort, and football intelligence puts him at or close to the level as a generational Defensive Lineman.

Too close to call this one in any ones favor. You line Watt up against Tony enough times and eventually he will get a sack, but it's a war each snap. I think in the long run you'd have to give advantage to Tony but who knows. NFL players are evolving every ten years. Watt may have be a better player than Tony ever went up against. It makes my head spin thinking of the whole thing. Thank you for giving me something to think about during this insomnia
