Which has had a bigger influence on the lackluster offense so far in 2014?
Both. End thread.
80/20 in favor of inexperience. Next year we'll see a more productive offense, without a doubt.
Obviously there is no easy answer because a combination of factors made our offense struggle. First of all, we were worse with Chad Henne and Toby Gerhart than Blake Bortles and Denard Robinson. Also, a lot of criticism in the early weeks was aimed at Zane Beadles. On defense, we have much better veterans who actually deserve to be starters including guys who played for Gus Bradley in Seattle. So it is not just how old most offensive players are but also the below-average quality of veterans on offense. Our best wide receiver this season is a rookie, not Cecil Shorts. Our best offensive lineman is a rookie, not Beadles. But it would be stupid to say age is irrelevant because our best position group, the defensive line, is all veterans except rarely-used Chris Smith. And it was the offensive line's fault that kicks and punts were blocked, so Josh Scobee and Bryan Anger are still doing their jobs right. So what we have to do is sign better veterans who can be immediate upgrades, then pick several offensive players, to improve the offense.

Definitely. I would be shocked if our offense makes no improvement during the offseason.
