After seeing that the Seahawks re-signed K.J. Wright yesterday, the news on Cliff Avril re-signing today surprised me.
The contract does seem on the low side. I'm guessing that Avril didn't want to test the FA market again, after he didn't get the type of offers he was anticipating in 2013. Also, he is in a great situation in Seattle. Most of his focus can be using his speed and quickness to rush the QB on expected passing downs, which fits his skills the best.
