Now if only they can use the same strategy on pass blocking.

We have.  Unfortunately, it only works in the running game.  When you try that strategy for pass blocking, it ends up with your QB flat on his back.
This O-line has no pride at all. Just get whooped business as usual oh well. That's what happens when you have third string talent starting.

I'll be interested to hear what Boseli and Lageman say.  That sack where Bortles got blasted was probably his own fault for not throwing it sooner.
I don't think Bortles was responsible for ANY sacks last night.  That was such a pathetic performance by them.  That play where Sam Young gets thrown 5 yards to the ground says it all about the line.

How many lineman come out of college every year, 300+?

I have a hard time believing Sam Young is at the top of that list. Or on any list.

So when Dave is watching tape of Sam, what is it that makes him say

"YES, CALL HIM NOW". When we need a tackle.

He rarely touches a speed rusher, and on an up and under move the

rusher goes right by on the inside. Maybe he run blocks ok?

A 6th round draft pick, that is too tall (6'8")to keep in front of a 6'3 speed rusher.

I don't care if he is a backup, there shouldn't be this drop off from good to terrible.

It's decisions like this, with backup positions, that make or break a GM

Beadles is another one, what tape was Dave watching on Beadles?

Not saying Beadles is as bad as Young, but it's close.

Beadles is actually doing well. Handled Casey like a boss.

He knows he won't be on the roster next season. Atleast, I would hope not.
It's strange. By judging the name "Sam Young," I thought he would be a pro-bowler for sure.

We do judge players prematurely based off their names around here, don't we?
Quote:Sam Young is what he is.... a low caliber backup tackle who very likely won't be on the team next season. That being said however, if an offensive tackle whiffs on a block that results in his quarterback getting seriously hit he should at the very least help his quarterback up off the ground and offer a sincere apology for nearly getting him hurt.

Sam isn't playing with much heart or class imho, and it isn't going to get better next game when he has to deal with JJ Watts again...

Congratulations to Sam Young! His 'outstanding' blocking performance (sarcasm font engaged...) garnered him national attention.

Come on Sam.... you can do better than that!
