Quote:What gets me excited is Atlanta's defense. Look at how they manhandled one of the NFL's best offensive lines to sack and rattle Aaron Rodgers, master of the pocket scramble, and forced him to throw an interception. Also, the fumble wasn't Aaron Ripkowski's fault as much as most people think. Three Falcons surrounded him and one guy punched the ball out. It will be fun to see what the Dirty Birds do with another QB who wears #12.
It was a great play by CB Jalen Collins and co. in forcing the fumble but a RB absolutely can't afford to cough the ball up in that situation. That play reminded me of the forced fumble by Giants S-CB Leon Hall on Lions RB Zach Zenner last month in terms of spot of the field, when it occurred in the game, and the impact it had.

Yes, field position was the worst part of it. I was just glad Aaron Ripkowski did not fumble on his own by being careless with the football.
Dan Quinn said Julio Jones will also be rested this week.
Not because I hate the Patriots, but the Falcons are stacked and I don't know if I can see them losing. That offense is nearly unstoppable. Stack the box and they'll kill you in the air, double a receiver and they'll run it.
The defense has really come around here the past month, month and a half.
It's going to be a good Super Bowl. I at least hope it's a good game.
I'd rest whoever I could, making sure they got in their "mental reps."
The only thing you're doing is studying your opponent. You know what to do already, just going through the whens and wheres of your keys.
Quote:I knew you would say something like that. Agree to disagree on this one because I hate the Patriots.
I hate the Patriots too....but they're not in my Division.

So you just want the Falcons to win because they are better overall? In that case Atlanta should be the favorite.
You are not kidding. When Aaron Ripkowski's fumble was recovered at the goal line, I remembered Atlanta's 99-yard drive against the Seahawks and thought no way is Green Bay forcing them to punt.
I'm just hoping he doesn't play like it.
Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck...
I have the falcons winning, but its close. Wouldn't surprise me if it turns into a defensive contest.

Atlanta's defense was #25 in the regular season. That does not surprise me. Chances are it will feature a lot of offense.

They improved a ton down the stretch. This matchup is being pegged as an offensive showdown which makes me think everyone will be wrong. I'm sure both offenses will move up and down the field but I don't think the score will follow suit. lots of field goals.

Bucky Brooks wrote today he thinks the Patriots should give up rushing yards on purpose by using nickel and dime packages on running plays. I like him but that idea seems crazy to me.
Now you have me wondering when was the last time Tom Brady did
not throw a TD pass (excluding his mostly lost 2008 season).

that idea is crazy. Their whole offense is based on running the ball and throwing off the playaction and bootlegs. If anything take away the run at all costs and hope for the best vs Julio. I'm sure they will bracket him with Devin n Butler.
Atlanta has a balanced offensive attack. Stack the box, Matt Ryan will throw. Put extra DBs out there, 24 or 26 will run.
Tom Brady and BB have 2 weeks to study the falcons and prepare. I wouldn't bet against that.

Guess what?
Matt Ryan and Dan Quinn have two weeks to study the Patriots and prepare. I would not best against that.

He did it twice this season.

Great. That is only 2 out of 18 though, so the Falcons need to play their best defense all night.
