Give me a guy with great hands. I am tired of seeing dropped passes. Get a guy who can catch anything, and you can find ways to get him open.
Quote:Williams would be the #1 TE the second he declares, especially with this awful class coming out.
Better than Funchess?
Quote:Better than Funchess?
He'll be listed at receiver

Funchess is strictly a WR, but yes.
Doubt he's there in the second. If Ebron goes 10 last year and this year the TE crop is probably worse he probably goes in the teens. Wouldn't mind a trade back and selecting him but doubt we are in that position.

same. i also cant see us picking a TE in round 1 at all. pass rusher and LB are really important to fill.
the guy i think that would help this team the most would be mckinney. top 5 is too high for him. in my perfect world we trade down and get mckinney and oakman. get the TE in free agency.
Whoa, pump the brakes. I don't think it's likely he goes in the top 10. He's not the physical freaks Ebron and Vernon Davis are and it seems like that's what it takes for a TE to go that high. I think late 1st/early 2nd is a good possibility.

i agree thats probably where he will go.

I agree. With such a weak TE selection on offer in the draft he may get drafted higher than he deserves, but can't see him being another Ebron. And what about Funchess/O'Leary ?
If Maxx Williams makes it out of Rd 1, he will never make it past the Titans in Rd 2.
Quote:If Maxx Williams makes it out of Rd 1, he will never make it past the Titans in Rd 2.
Why the Titans? They already have a good one in Delanie Walker. Sure, having 2 good TE's is nice, but with their roster arguably being worse than ours, and having so many needs, what makes you so sure that a TE is a virtual lock in round 2? I don't follow...
It is not totally out of the question that the Titans trade Pick 2 to the Jets for Pick 4 and the Jets Pick in Rd 2.
The Titans might even get the Browns to trade their two Rd 1 picks for Pick 4 (Browns take Amari Cooper).
Still, Maxx Williams dropping to the top of Rd 2 would have to make him BAP.
I fully expect that Maxx Williams to be taken in the 20s of Rd 1.

He obviously is
not a wide receiver. This is what I read about him on NFL.com:
Quote:This year, however, there's not the same excitement about the position. There are some talented players at the position, no doubt, but is there a first-rounder in the bunch?
If there is anyone with that type of talent, it's Michigan's Devin Funchess, but he's playing wide receiver for the Wolverines this season and has been very impressive, despite the team's struggles. I think he fits best as a tight end at the next level, though, and is in the mold of Graham as a move tight end.

The only way I can see him being the #33 overall pick is the Titans trade down in Round 2 because they don't need a tight end.

And NFL.com has been wrong before. Funchess watched the contract squabbles Graham had with the Saints about his designation and how much money he could possibly miss out on. He's going to be a WR at the next level because that's where he can get more money.

Not really his call. The coaches will put him where they want.
Nice play by Williams, hurdles 2 players for the TD
