If they aren't getting push straight up the middle they disappear.  I guess, they played the run okay, but any "good" o-line seems to shut their pass rush right down.  An edge rusher would sure help, but then just about every position would help.

That's usually how it works.

Most good pass rush is getting pressure from the ends or in a 3-4 the linebackers.  Remember Mathis and Freeney?  Dumervil?  Ware?  Mathews?  Von Miller?  That's not how it usually works, were the exception because of Marks.  Stop Marks and everyone else becomes invisible.  JJ Watt is listed as a tackle but lines up everywhere.
Why can't it stop the run?
Our D-line us the only truly professional aspect of our team. They are the only ones that could be trusted all season long to get the job done. They have been extraordinary considering just how awful other elements of the team have been at various points over the season. No surprise why either...veterans.

This.

Going against good lines, you aren't going to win every matchup.  That's why it's so important to have good LBs that hit those gaps.
