Quote:Yesterday was the first time Bortles had happy feet in the pocket. Not good.

^This
Bortles can't even throw an accurate screen pass, missed a three yard out pattern, overthrew Marquise, threw the ball out of bounds on fourth down and makes bad decisions.  I don't think he's accurate enough throwing the ball to be a great QB.  "After an offseason working on fundamentals..."   When the heat is on he'll go right back to inaccuracy and wobbling ducks.  There's more to being a franchise QB, than being a big athletic kid with a decent release.

Average play from the o-line and reducing unforced errors by 50% would make this a 7-8 win team.
Bortles had a much better game from my opinion, even the throws he made which we're overthrows it looks like they was inaccurate because he was trying to throw it to only where the receiver could get it.

That's definitely a step forward, as regards to feeling phantom pressure I only saw it once and quite frankly I don't blame him. We need to address our oline heavily this off season whether that be in FA or draft remains to be seen. Hell I wouldn't even mind testing the water and throwing a 5th at TB for Dotson, they seem to be looking to get all the picks they can.
I'm hopeful for his progress next year.  Having the same guys in front of him again (and hopefully they improve), having Robinson back, maybe having Blackmon there, and not having 3 rookie WRs, all are going to be extrinsic things that help him tremendously.

Quote:You can see the potential in both Bortles and the defense. I really feel next year this team is gonna be significantly better once Bortles cleans up the mistakes and we actually block someone. Amazing to think Bortles could walk out of the season being sacked closed too 60 times.

Blaine Gabbert had potential and so did Geno Smith. Now its time to see if

If this team plays like this next year then I totally agree

Well, if your dad said it ...
@JohnOehser: Jaguars HC Gus Bradley says biggest area of improvement needed for QB Blake Bortles is quickness of decision-making.

Yeah, hasn't BB realised now he only gets 1.5secs to throw? Geez.....

I have to agree with Gus on this one, there were several times in the Ravens game where he held the ball too long.

The OC needs to design plays where Bortles can make quick throws and I don't mean a bunch of screen plays.

It'd be easier if the O-line and his receivers were consistent.  He should definitely shoulder some of the blame, but it's a team effort.
Quote:I really do like Blake but it would be nice if he would have had a game like Carr where he throws for 3 TDs and no picks.
If feel the exact same way on this. You can't be below average to trash the whole year and get a pass. These fans will because they don't wanna bash their own team but that's not being realistic. Shouldn't be hard to put one great game out there to show you're worth that pick.
