Or... You spread 'em out 4 wide and make them go man-2-man, and allow BB5 to throw quickly to the open WR.
Make it easier on him
We're already keeping a TE and RB in pass pro--- NEWS FLASH: IT'S NOT WORKING!
Try something new!!!
The last drive: First play, we went 4 wide, they had to play off in respect of the WRs streaking. We got an easy 15 yard play.
The rest of the plays on that drive: We only had 3 receivers and kept the RB to protect--Result? Sacks and horrible pass protection.
Quote:I noticed a couple times where we max protected and the ravens still got him.
EXACTLY!!!!
Fish hasn't figured out that bunching the formation for all receivers to be in the middle of the field and trying to go max pass pro isn't working.
You gotta spread the D out in the NFL. Let WRs have a chance with 1 on 1 coverage.
This East Coast garbage he runs ain't workin. That's why I think the OC has alot of burden to bear in regards to the offensive production.
Quote:The line is very bad, and if Caldwell thinks he can just plug in a new RT and it'll be fine, that's the sort of blunder that will cost him his job.
However, the sacks are honestly as much on Bortles as the O-line. He has no sense of the rush. He just stands in the pocket and pump fakes while defenders are barreling down at him, or he retreats from the pocket into even more defenders. His pocket presence is dreadful right now.
I saw Bortles make the first pass rusher miss while trying to throw a pass downfield and then having to evade another onslaught which finally brings him down.
The sacks are definitely on the line and if a lesser man was standing behind center, the Jaguars would've surrendered 10+ sacks.

could you imagine what this game would have looked like with gabbert under center?
Linder is basically the only one worth a darn. I'm hoping we can land Reese Dismukes at the top of round 2. Auburn runs with zone blocking, plus, he's started since his freshmen year. Heck, I hope we just go OT and C with our first two picks and bring in one our two guys in free agency to compete/start/god do something for this OLine.
I hate seeing a TE or RB in pass protection, there's just no point they constantly whiff on blocks and we're 1 receiver down because of it.
Stop reacting to the Ravens pass rush and make them react to our 4 WR sets. Have the first quarter of quick medium passes and watch them back off for the rest of the game then, their secondary is very suspect and we didn't expose that weakness, instead we tried to cover our own weakness up.
Quote:I don't think Lageman knows his face from his dirt button. IIRC he was all gung ho that we would draft Aaron Murray and he had 0 clue about Bortles. I do not think he is privy to any personal information
trade down to get Sammy Watkins and then Murray in round 2 was his plan on one of the shows pretty close to the draft
