The goal posts will shrink for the pro bowl from 18.5 feet wide to 14 feet wide. If all goes well this may end up as a permanent change in effort to make field goals and extra point attempts harder.

I like it, would hopefully add more excitement to a rather mundane part of the game.

Perfect place to experiment with it. Wouldn't be surprised if they try it again next preseason.

This just sounds like a pro bowl thing

Expandable goal lists would be interesting. Normal width at 50+ yarders and narrower at 20-30 or so

Did you see the 53 yard FG he nailed? Right down the middle.

It's all a conspiracy to make some team use a first round pick on Roberto "Down the middle" Aguayo. That way FSU can have two kickers that were drafted in the 1st round!

Maybe they should raise the goal posts.

It just gives people more of a reason to hate kickers.

Im in support of this, instead of makin the game so heavy on not touching receivers downfield and not roughing the quarterback, its nice to see a direction in which players are asked to be better instead of more cAreful. Narrow the posts and move PATs to the 30 or 40 and i think the game would have a new angle of excitement and add value to players that are almost never taken seriously.

I actually like that idea. Want to bring excitement to field goal kicking? This would be perfect.

im generally nervous when scobee lines up for anything over 30 yards.

Why? He's extremely consistent when our line are blocking him.


As a whole I would like this idea to narrow on all kicks like a poster said it's refreshing to make a change to demand better from players as opposed to making it easier.

If it ain't broke

Give me a break! NFL is going to be touch football in a couple of years. Why mess with the goal posts. Lets make the football round also....right!
