Shocking news.
Zach Orr not only beat the odds as an UDRFA but he became a quality starting ILB.
When it comes to neck injuries and neck conditions, it's always better to be on the cautious side.

Makes sense for the longterm. It sucks as an UDFA and only playing 3 years he hasn't really had the time to set himself up financially. Hope he has future successes though. I liked watching him play.

The Zach Orr news hit home for me, as it brought back memories of the severe neck injury former Lions LB Reggie Brown suffered in the final regular season game of his 2nd NFL season. One play changed his life forever. Thankfully, Brown has been able to live a normal non-football life and that Orr never had to go through the recovery and rehab process that Brown went through.

IIRC David Wilson and Lee Suggs had similar issues.
Stenosis isn't something that prevents you from playing, but if you ever have a neck injury and discover you have it... can change doctors' opinions on whether or not you should be playing.

Doesn't Jarvis Jones have stenosis as well? I believe that is what caused Bum to fall in the draft.
