Quote:I'd posit that we are better at WR when looking at average talent. Much more so when looking towards future production.

They could have two receivers over 1000 yards this year. We have not had one since 2005.

You're crazy.

WHAT
I sold my tix for this game .... Thank God.

Quote:Really, compared to Andre and Deandre Johnson? Two number one receivers on the same team?

Deandre is better than anyone we have on the team, Andre would have been any time up until this year but he's yet to have a 100 yard game this season. D. Johnson Posey and Martin are nothing compared to hurns/lee/shorts/arob.

I guess my statement may be based more on perception of potential more than actual ability, but it all comes down to how much value above our WRs you give Andre and DeAndre. In my opinion, our mean ability is better. *shrug* just an opinion, though.
Siggestion for Kahn....Sell the team to another city. We can have high school games at Everbank field that would be better.

Quote:And the heartburn of selecting Gabbert over Watt finds its way back into the pit of my gut.

Remember at the time we needed a franchise quarterback and Gabbert was widely projected as a top five pick.

I wish people did not complain about what could have happened during a bad draft.

Yeah, me too. Thank God for the Publix deli team!

What could have happened is we could gave drafted Watt.

I wanted Watt. That being said I never imagined Watt would be this good.
We have a gimmick offense right now because of two things:  1) The O-line has played sub-par for most of the year and doesn't consistently give Bortles time and 2) We don't have a bell cow, move the pile type running back.  Denard is a complimentary, change of pace style back, not a feature back.  We can be successful without that pile moving style back, but we absolutely need to see better offensive line play which likely means spending a high draft pick on an O-Lineman next year.

The offense is gimmicky because there are a high number of read option plays and designed roll outs.  The negative of a designed roll out is that your QB typically isn't going to be throwing back to the other side of the field so you are in effect making the defense's job easier by providing them a smaller area that needs to be covered.  The positive is it at least gives you enough time to get a pass off, so I understand why we are doing it, but we need to acquire more quality personnel on the OL and at RB so that we don't have to call those plays all the time.

I like our WRs for next year and I don't think we need to spend a high pick on one in the 2015 draft.  A late round flier on somebody I wouldn't have a problem with.

What about all the drop passes. I counted at least 3 in each game this year and I'm not talking about bad throws I'm talking about hit you in the hands and chest throws. Drive me crazy. We have a lot of young talent at the receiver position but they need to catch the ball. Especially Cecil Shorts, a veteran wideout dropping passes is unexceptable.
I've heard that we have a lot of "potential ". What good is potential if it's never realized?
The final straw........I used to enjoy wearing my headphones and listening to the play by play while watching the games at EverBank. Yesterday, there was about a 20 second delay instituted, so that's gone now.
Quote:During the game, it sucks to watch. But we are all just used to it at this point. The franchise has been a joke for four straight years. A punchline for the rest of the league.

Want a depressing thought?

The Texans have the 10th best record in the AFC and try to think of one position where you can say the Jaguars are better than Houston.

Quarterback.   The Jaguars have their franchise quarterback of the future.   The Texans don't.

I would also say that in a year or two, we will be better at WR.   Andre Johnson is on his last legs.

I honestly think that if we fix our offensive line, we can win 8 or 9 games.   To me, 90% of our problem is the offensive line.

Our offensive line collapsed. And stupid penalties screwed us. Our run d can only last so long.

You sure that wasn't caused by Frank Frankie's studder?

That's on a weekly basis..
Two things really stood out to me. Our OL is the biggest need. It was between that and FS. And I think it's firmly OL now. I would not be surprised to see us tackle that group like we did the DL last offseason.

Second was our need for that dominate DE. Watt is obviously a freak, but with the talent out DL has, that one dominate guy would make the rest that much better.

I really believe our offense just needs that OL to be at least average to take that next step
