Should JJ win the MVP award?

I think so I know there's games left but this guy is incredible I know it's massive QB bias but this guy honestly deserves to be the first defensive MVP since LT.

If it wasn't for him Texans wouldn't still be in playoff contention.
On a 6-6 team. Who knows. Most likely not, but dominate player
If he gets 10 TDs then he has to be in the mix at least. We all know that MVP means "Best QB in the league", but the year he's having could supersede the conventional wisdom.

He's a great player and could be unanimous DPOY. But I have a hard time saying he's more valuable to his team than Peyton Manning, Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers.

Really? I don't see it. I'm not sure how you measure a DB's contribution to a team's won-lose record.

He's a great player having a great year, but other defensive players are as well. To be fair, he also leads the League in publicity - due to the large contract he recently signed and the catches for TDs O'Brien has put in for him.

If the Packers get to the SB (or perhaps just the Conference Championship) I think Rodgers is a lock. But other QBs and Demarco Murray are also in the running. As always a lot depends on which teams play well down the stretch.
If enough people are sick of seeing a QB win year in, year out, he definitely has a chance.
Watt for MVP seems to be the football narrative this week.

Great player who deserves all the accolades he gets. But not the MVP. It'll be Rodgers barring some epic collapse.

Can an MVP come from an 8-8 team? Really? No DE is more valuable than an elite QB, ever.

I'm not sure if he's going to win the MVP, but to say other defensive players are having anywhere near the year he is is not based in reality.

<p class="" style="font-size:18px;">J.J. Watt's Sacks (11.5) + knockdowns (43) + pressures (59) total is 113.5. The next closest is Everson Griffen at 65 (11-23-31).

I know you've got to take a QB high in the draft if you don't have one (which we didn't) and I know this has been pointed out many times before, but we traded up in front of Houston and grabbed Gabbert the year Watt was drafted.  Wade Phillips was right about him when he said he would be a Hall of Famer.  Everyone, including myself, said that was ludicrously premature.  If Watt stays healthy for a couple more seasons, even if he is half as productive as he has been he'll be in the Hall.
