This mock from Great Blue North has a trade down from the 4th overall spot to Cleveland for their two first round picks.

With both Williams and Gregory gone, I would absolutely do that trade. Heck, I'd probably do it even if they were on the board.

I like the idea of trading down, but taking a Guard?!?! That dude better be the Second Coming of Chris Naeole for me to give up a shot at a talent like Cooper or Beasley.

Probably more of a RT for us. Also that DB Waynes is pretty damn good. I would be pretty happy with this trade.

I haven't seen Waynes play at all this year, so I'll default to your opinion on him. I'll make sure to check him out over what's left of the CFB season.

I like the trading down part, not stoked about the picks though.

Gregory or Cooper should be there.. Both are impact players that can start immediately.

The trade would be great, although likely unrealistic.

 

As for the picks, meh.

 

Would be disappointing to pass on a linebacker like Shaq Thompson and pass rushers like Fowler and Dupree.

Would love the trade, but would take:

 

Benardrick Mckinney at 14 

 

would be ok with trae though

I disagree, I think Collins will be a dominant player, maybe even a RT but a dominant G at the very least.

 

I'd rather get Fowler with the 2nd pick though.

I like the idea but with the 2 picks I'd got get Fowler (DE) and McKinney (OLB)

 

Get another piece of the line in Free Agency.  Our DBs may be ok as long as we have a fierce pass rush.

I do think it does depend a lot on how a player like Ray or Beasley is rated. If the dropoff after them is too significant, I would rather just take them rather than trade down.

 

And of course, my opinion on this would completely change if we pick up a starting caliber RT in FA.

Collins doesn't really seem to fit the style of our O-Line. Seems like Dave is bringing in smaller guys to run the zone. Collins is a massive road grader.

Yeah I can definately see that being an issue, not sure how athletic he is. I was surprised when we passed on Warford in the 3rd round when we took Gratz and that could've been the reason.

 

It does seem like Caldwell probably wants to get his kind of players. But for me, I think Collins would be a steal in the mid first round and would fill a need either at RT or LG

Key point right there.

We got a lot of sacks this year because our defense is still on the field too much. Our DB's can't play Zone worth a flip. They always seem to be out of position. One more year and I will start hating on them a lil more.. Bortles is still the object of my interception issue. Stop throwing the ball to the other team!!! INT's MATTER IN THE NFL!!!!

I think McCray has played well and is probably one starter at corner. Colvin could be the other starter. But free safety has been a joke on this team for the better part of a decade since they let Deon Grant leave as a free agent.

I wouldn't mind the trade Oakland got in this scenario for the 1st overall. And they were still in position to take an impact player. I believe that ship has long sailed now.
