Some people just aren't happy unless they're crusading for something.

What does that mean?

They're trying to say that if you commit a crime and you're white, you get let off the hook.

Divide and conquer it's the oldest trick in the book and it's done masterfully these days. Sad.

White people don't get off the hook. What is wrong with everyone the past 2 weeks? This country is becoming more racially divided because of all this crap. If I were you, I'd buy a gun for protection, if you already don't have one.

To be fair, there is gobs of evidence that shows blacks in particular are disproportionately charged, convicted and sentenced in comparison to all other ethnicities but specifically with whites. In my eyes, it's easy to see where the rage can stem from considering that.

Just like a lot of people tried to say that this was the case in Ferguson, yet Ferguson is 70% black community.. Give me a break..

The problem as I see it, is that everyone is so quick to point the finger at someone else when they damn sure need to be pointing the finger at themselves first. Take accountability for your actions for once in your life and quit trying to play martyr..

I agree completely. No matter what facts and rational you have, people are so dense they will not listen, and they are damn sure not going to blame themselves.

True enough but the demographic of Ferguson is not indicative of the nation. The facts are the facts. I was just pointing out that it is obviously a systemic problem.

Neither does anyone any good and people outside of their 'sphere' won't take them seriously. I certainly don't. Act like animals or lunatics and expect to be seen as rational? I don't think so, I don't care what your gender is, nor the color of your skin.
I take people by their actions and words, not by gender/skin color.

Black people are, and the stats are there, disproportionately sentenced doing the same crimes especially when you compare them to white people. Also, white people riot and destroy property as well. They just do it for different events. The outrage isn't the same. It is a fair point. Granted, this was national news building over time so there was a lot more coverage.

If there sentence is longer, how do you know its not because they are repeat offenders? I'm pretty sure if you keep showing up in front of a judge constantly for crime, they are going to make sure you hang out in jail longer because that person hasn't learned anything. That argument is invalid.

No comparable crimes. Same amount. I'll look to see if I can find stats, etc...

I do agree that there are positive and negative ways to express outrage.

If there is any argument about this, it should be about the socio economics and social mobilty opportunities with in the black community compared to white...using stereotypes about blacks getting charged more often or disproportunatly to whites is a futile effort at making a change.

Just making the point that people can be outraged about something without being stupid about it. Burning down cities and such isn't going to change facts or statistics, it just destroys people's livelihoods and makes other not care as much about what they're so outraged about because their means to an end is not justified at all. Rioting is not the way to get people to pay attention in a positive and helpful way. It just turns folks off and makes them not pay attention to what the real problem is.
