4. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jamal Adams, S, LSU

Adams is built for today's NFL as a versatile safety who can play in the box effectively, make tackles against the run and move to the edges and track slot receivers. Jacksonville hit on a couple of defenders in the 2016 draft (Jalen Ramsey and Yannick NgakoueMyles Jack is still an unknown), but the Jags need more help.

Great pick. Keep stacking this defense.
I've not been on the "safety at #4 bandwagon" and I'm still a bit reticent on the matter, but it sure does seem to be picking up speed.

edit: watching his cut-ups now and Adams seems like a guy that is smart, fast and would made an immediate impact. Hard to argue with that pick. I also really like TreDavius White at CB watching these LSU games. He'd be a nice compliment to Ramsey.

I'm okay with the idea, I guess. Just seems like there is a ton of guys who hold higher impact to me. Then again, I'm kind of a dinosaur.
I'd rather not.

A safety is scary at 4 but can't argue with the talent, this dude is a beast. When people say you remind them of Sean Taylor or bob sanders, you know you doing something right.
By preference

1)Allen

2)Adams

3)Williams

4)Solomon Thomas

5) Takk Mckinley

It's not really that scary anymore with rookie payscales. It'd be unheard of doing this 10 years ago, but there isn't a lot of salary cap taken up by rookies anymore so we don't have to go strictly for a QB, DE, LT, or shutdown CB. Take the best player that fits a need and we'll get better.

I like Adams for his ability on the field and also for his intangibles. Looks like a born leader, smart player, good instincts. The only defensive player I have above him right now is Allen. (i'd also include Garrett but assume he will be gone for sure.)

Garrett not even in your top 5?

He won't be there at 4.
Daniel Jeremiah had Adams mocked to us as well

Agreed on all points.

In case you didn't catch this ^

if a team likes Allen better as a prospect and the other two teams go QB it very possible. As high of a prospect he is is isn't Clowney level prospect and teams reach every year for a QB.
All I care is that they hit with the pick, which we haven't been the best at.

I didn't, thanks
I don't think Garrett is as good of a prospect Bosa was last year either. I'd put him on about the Leonard Williams level. Still very good prospect though
I was surprised they rank Garrett so much higher than Allen, Adams, and Hooker on NFL.com.

I would have to assume their grade is also curved for potential....Garrett is extremely physically gifted. If he ever turns his motor up to 100 full time, he is going to be a real force coming off the edge. If he slips to 4, the jaguars need to draft him without hesitation.

I think his ceiling is higher than Bosa, and his floor is higher than Clowney. He should be a good one.
