Being a spoiler isn't really important to me.  Winning is.

Worrying about draft position isn't really important to me.  Winning is.

My feeling is the Jaguars will upgrade in free agency this off-season and add depth through the draft.

Here is the thing.  The Jaguars are currently starting a high number of rookies and second year players.  The team's record reflects what happens when a team does that.  Do we really want more draft picks expecting to repeat that formula with different results?  Sprinkle in some veteran players along with the current rookie/second year players from this season, and I think the improvement will be dramatic.  Use the draft to add depth/development players.  The team doesn't necessarily need a high draft position in order to do this.

The bottom line is, the current roster of players needs to learn how to win.

Screw the draft.  History has shown that picking in the top 5 does not guarantee success.  PLay until the season is over then worry about the draft.  I would love for the Jags to knock Houston and Baltimore out of the playoffs.  I want the team to spank those mullet lovin titans as well.

I am in agreement with these statements.  ^

If we go from picking 2nd to picking 5th…. so be it.  I'd rather see progress and know that this team can beat other NFL teams - even if they are teams found in the lower tier of the league. The fan base and the younger players need to see the W's in my opinion.

Caldwell's crafty.  I don't worry about him picking 2 or 3 spots later.
The difference in our draft position is insignificant if our front office knows what they're doing. Give me wins and a winning attitude in the locker room over draft position any day. If our front office gets the right guys then our position won't matter.

Truth.
Dude, you guys that don't think playing the spoiler is important are Kuh-Ray-ZZZZEEEEE!

Spoiling the playoff hopes of the tinhorns and the edgar allen poes would be SWEET!

Just think about the joy and pride we'd feel going into the offseason.  Plus it would mean we ran off at least 2, probably three more wins!  Man, being able to stick it to the tinhorns would just be icing on the cake!  That team needs to feel the pain.  And that marine haircut drop out JJ Watt needs to be tacken down a notch!  Being the team responsible for keeping them out of the playoffs would be a great way to spend the December, heck it's the closest thing to a playoff we can have!

I'm no longer worried about draft position.  In a moment of weakness last week I flirted with the idea of being ok with us losing the rest of our games.  I was nearing the edge of apathy.  Now, my friends, I see the folly in my ways.

Let's face it, a great GM that has a franchise QB can build without having multiple draft picks from having the #1 spot and trading down.

Is Joekel a great #1 pick?  No, but that doesn't change the fact the Caldwell has shown is ability to sniff out talent.  There are always hits and misses, but I have confidence in him.

Let's go out there and whip the tinhorns!  Let's make the next 2 games we play against them elimination games!!!!

Just Win Baby!

Quote:I don't care that much about draft position honestly. We have our QB. We should have more than ample opportunity to get an outstanding player since we'll almost certainly be picking in the top 10 no matter what.
Yeah I would be happy drafting at 10 overall especially if the team drafts a FS.
