Quote:Miss St went from No 1 to No 4 after their loss (so did Ole Miss)....it wouldnt shock me if they kept Bama at 4.

Very different situation. Bama already has a loss. A second loss to a marginally good Mizzou team would certainly knock them below the 1-loss champions/co-champions.

Mizzou shouldn't automatically get in based on a win, either. They have BAD losses. None of the other potential contenders have losses as bad as they do.

Right, and at the time a 1 loss Miss St/Ole Miss was ahead of some undefeated teams.  Same thing.
Bama isn't getting in with a loss to MIZ.  It's as simple as that.

I think the SEC lost a little luster this past weekend.  If bama loses to Mizzou who isn't considered to be all that good, I just don't see how they get in especially since the voters already said winning your championship is a huge part of getting into the playoffs.
If the SEC is the best in the country then how can a team wins the division two years in a row be average?  If the best of the league is average then the conference is average. This Missouri team finished in the top 10 ranking last year, beat Okla State in the Cotton Bowl,  and has beaten 8 bowl eligible teams so far this year.

The SEC will be shut out of the playoffs if Mizzou wins.

I was looking at Gary Pinkel online, he was a roommate at Kent State with Nick Saban!  He also has 5 division championships in 8 seasons between the Big 12 and SEC. That's pretty darn impressive.

ok, sorry, they're above average

the East division is going through a rough patch with inexperienced players and coaching changes.  Give Missouri credit, but last year was the best team they have had in a long time.  This year they are benefiting from inconsistent play from other SEC east teams

Ole Miss was never #1  or #4. What are you talking about?

Quote:How in the world could you rank a 2 loss Bama team over a 2 loss Missouri team?  That makes no sense.  It's not happening.

Strength of schedule, of course - and the fact that Alabama's first loss was at Ole Miss, not home against Indiana.

Quote:You'd have to think anyone who is in the top 4 that loses this weekend is all but eliminated.

I guess we'll find out though.

Not if Ohio State loses. How can you put 2-loss Ohio State over 2-loss Oregon or Alabama?

By playing in a crappy division. That is like saying if the 5-7 Saints win the NFC South, they must be better than the 8-4 Lions. The SEC East is bad this year.

This Missouri team is not the same one that played in the Cotton Bowl. Every year it is a new team. "Bowl eligible" does not mean anything because it only requires winning half of your games.

If the SEC is shut out of the playoffs, a lot more people are going to wish it was eight teams instead of only four.Somebody who deserves it will not get in.

Ole Miss was never #1 or #4? You should do some fact checking....you're wrong all the time

Maybe in a poll I never read. I only read the AP poll when Trav posted both rankings each week.

She knows. She just lives to play dumb and get under people's skin by being pompous and deliberately wrong.
