Jags trying to improve their 5th WR midseason is better than the 2nd or 3rd
I am big on names, almost superstitious. I like Touchdown Tommy. Tommy Streeeeeeter I can hear the announcer scream to the crowd. Streeter Streaking down the sidelines. Streeter is making it look so easy its like calling up plays in the street. Touchdown Streeter in NFL films documentary- "A Streeter named desire"

He passes the name test. Now will we pass more than 12 times a game, 8 of those in the 4th quarter down by 20.

I have a slight problem with a 6th round draft pick from Miami who apparently was a 20 year old high school student.

He may have a politically correct "learning disability", which may translate into Tommy being asked to run in a straight line a lot.

It could work, who knows.
With Sanders coming back from suspension and Lee getting healthy and needing developmental reps, Brown, unfortunately, had become Mr. Irrelevant on the Jags.  Streeter gives the Jags a red zone WR target, especially now that Robinson was put on IR.  Let's see what this guy has got, now that Coach Sullivan has had some time with him.

While I agree with your premise - I think Brown became Mr. Irrelevant when he dropped a third of the passes thrown his way early in the season.

Right, because Randy Moss (the 1999 edition) is sitting around waiting on baited breath for a 1-10 team to call.

Brown is 5'10", runs a 4.65, and vanished from the active list. Streeter is 6'5", runs a 4.4, and is worth a look, even if it's just as a gunner on special teams.

And then there's that.
No risk in giving him a try - it's not like the roster can get any worse.

Didn't the Jaguars make a mistake taking a WR from Oakland a few years ago? I can't think of his name... but he only caught like one or two passes and made like 20 million dollars.

Good old jerry porter. Best signing ever. Up there with Aaron Ross
And he's on the practice squad:

Jaguars signed WR Mike Brown to the practice squad.

Brown was waived last week, but has practice squad eligibility despite being a third-year player. Tommy Streeter is Jacksonville's No. 5 receiver.

I didn't think he was even close to being eligible.

Wait, 1-10 right ?
Correction 2-10, I'm not saying Skeeter had anything to do with it, but he didnt stop it either...
For those interested -  Streeter was in on one snap.

It's the new rule stating that first, second and third-year players are eligible for a practice squad spot, regardless of games played.

Feels to me like the Jags wanted to see what Streeter can do in game action, but wanted Brown close by in case of injury or Streeter being ineffective.
Brown was a terrific QB at FCS Liberty.... Saw him play several games but was making transition to receiver in NFL....  With all the receivers on the team, his time was due to be short......  Another Gene Smith FCS player....

Mike Brown was acquired via a workout invite and played some pretty meaningful snaps for us the last few years. I'd say if anything, he was one of the better finds under the Gene Smith regime.

Which speaks volumes about the Gene Smith regime.
This move was made to give him the offseason with the team. Let's see how he does in training camp.
