Quote:It made you fully turn on gators, yet there were just as many gator fans that didnt want tebow? Come on man, contradicting yourself.
I've already said there were gator fans that didn't want to draft tebow. But they weren't the majority at least not on these boards (or in my own experience).
I've stated on here before that it was more than just gator fans. But again, that does have anything to do with my argument. I'm talking about what gator fans did with tebow. They took it to a level we have never, ever seen.
Once Jameis gets drafted, that'll be that. It won't go on for 3 years afterwards.
How is that a contradiction? It doesn't mean the Gator fans weren't just as obnoxious. Seriously?
I'll agree that it probably wasn't that even, but the people that were legit Jaguar fans and knew football knew we shouldn't draft him...and I think the board proved that over and over. It was a different level than we've seen, and I think your level of support for Jameis is a level I've never seen. He's not a good guy, but you guys will fight for him to the end and only because he has the possibility of brining a national title.

Yes, but most of those legit Jaguar fans weren't gator fans so you can't just lump them with gator fans.
I've criticized Jameis appropriately. If you are talking about FSU fans in general? Then yes, I agree and I've had arguments with them om the scout FSU message board. But once he is drafted next year, that will be that. That wasn't the case with tebow and gator fans.
Quote:I was making a point, but it was a joke.
There were 15 board members making all those posts? Okay trav... as I said revisionist history.
How many do you think it was? There were a few in here that spouted the message you claim.
I've also seen posters in here before saying they wouldn't renew tickets if a certain coach/es were retained. There have been other instances/excuses given that if it did it didn't happen they wouldn't renew. Nothing new.

I have no idea. It was certainly more than 15. Listen, you can make comparisons, but we have never seen anything like it within the Jaguar fan base no matter how many comparisons you have.

Lol, who said we've never seen anything like that? You can't just assume things....everyone here will tell you the message board was going nuts at that time.
Fyi, there were many many many Gator fans against the Jaguars drafting Tebow. You will never concede that.

And you can spout your opinions to as fact. Still doesn't make it so.

There were gator fans against it, but compared to those who were for it they were in the minority.
Trav is and has always downplayed the gator/tebow years.

As much as he is down playing it, your opinion is slightly escalated. Your fans are just as much a homer as UF fans were...you guys talk just as much. You guys are just as boisterous, the numbers just aren't as large in this area.
Big John is your badger. There, I said it. lol

I don't think I can overstate it. We've never seen anything like it.

I see it from the other side. I told you I've argued with homer FSU fans on scout message board because they defended him no matter what. We aren't arguing whether fans bases become annoying/arrogant during great runs. WWe are arguing over the level that it has happened/is happening. We won't ever reach that level because after Jameis is drafted that will be that. Gator/tebow fans take the cake. It went on and on and on. That won't happen with FSU fans

This is not even close when it comes to UF/FSU fans vs. Jaguars fans. Never do I recall the Jaguars get blasted for passing up on a FSU players. UF fans (perhaps a vocal minority, but regardless they were VERY vocal) always had this holier than thou attitude against the Jaguars over the years. There's always that crowd of "well you're not doing this, so I'm not getting tickets".
From Kenyatta Walker vs. Stroud, to Gaffney vs Mathis, to not hiring Spurrier, to the Tebow fiasco...I never heard any collegiate fanbase blast the Jaguars for not drafting/signing/hiring one of their own like the Gator fans have done over the years.
Not Hurricane fans, not Seminole fans, not even Bulldog fans...

You want to harp on the Tebow's/the country's infatuation with Tebow. Originally you claimed Gator fans were the most arrogant fans you've ever seen. I'm saying you're wrong. FSU fans are right up there.
You have a different infatuation with Jameis. Gator fans wanted him to come to Jax. FSU fans want everyone to believe Jameis is a good guy and has really done nothing wrong. It's a different type of infatuation.

Jameis stole crab legs and shouted a vulgar phrase....that doesn't make him the devil or a thug. He's made some mistakes that he was punished for. FSU fans acknowledge these things. People act as if he has killed someone. He's immature sure, but he's also stayed out of trouble since the Clemson suspension.

Was it annoying? Yes. But you fail to recognize the simple fact that a huge portion of the noise was coming from people who weren't Gator fans, but simply Tebow fans.

At least someone acknowledges it's a vocal minority. Factor that in with non Gator Fans and you got the show that it was.
FreeAgent made the claim, "it's a fact most teams in the SEC would beat FSU and the others a 50/50 chance."
My response was FSU played the best the SEC offered last year and beat them, so his claim is not fact, just speculation.
If Mizzou beats Alabama in the SEC Championship game I would say they are the best of the SEC, they proved it and yet they would not be selected to the final 4 because of their ranking. If that happens, Miss St. (assuming they win) would be the lone SEC team in the playoff without winning their division but their single loss in the conference was to the team Mizzou beat in the Championship game.
I think what will eventually happen is the top team of each Power 5 conference and 3 invited teams will make up the playoffs.

If one guy says it, they must all believe it?
