Most meat is frozen.  It keeps longer that way.

Refrigerators are set at 38 degrees. Ice is 32. Ice brings the fish as close as possible to freezing without actually freezing it.

What if ice is in a cooler?  What is the ambient temperature in a cooler with ice?

I always though a refrigerator would be colder.  It's not like the fish is inside the ice.  It's just around it.
