A case can be made for either side of the discussion/ debate. From my perspective as an NFL fan who tries to follow every team to at least some extent, the only two openings for 2017 that feel like good situations are the Broncos and Jaguars. If in the position of a HC candidate, I would have major concerns about accepting a HC offer from the 49ers, Rams, Chargers, or Bills.

The chargers job isnt all that bad imo. Its problems stem from the fans and the poor handling of this relocation. But as a coach you have most the tools to do your job efficiently. Theyre not a bottomed out roster or anything and they draft well pretty regularly.

I agree with your assessment of the Chargers roster. But when considering the Chargers plan to practice and workout in San Diego during the off-season and then move their football operation to the Los Angeles area in July, the team's HC is going to have to deal with much more than typically is the case for an NFL HC. Which is saying plenty, as the job normally is extremely challenging and grueling.
Quote: Because of the long time connection in New England with Lions GM Bob Quinn and Josh McDaniels, it's likely that McDaniels would get serious consideration to become Lions HC if there's an opening in 2018. Matt Patricia as well.
So my way too early predictions... McDaniels to the clots and Patricia to the lions in 2018!

If you are proven correct, my guess is Jim Bob Cooter will either remain Lions OC or QB Coach Brian Callahan will be promoted to OC. This way, Matthew Stafford will have continuity.
Why wouldn't he. He stunk in denver.
