Quote:Yes, my mistake. I keep thinking it was cleveland that drafted #2, but that was #4.

Still, the point stands, the only reason the Jaguars won those 3 games last season was because they fell at the right time of the season for those teams to be completely uninspired.

Yeah, last years team with Henne at QB really had no business winning 4 of 8 games in the 2nd half of the season.

They actually overachieved in the 2nd half of the season.

It doesn't look like that will happen again this year.

The Texans are probably still mad at losing both games to the lowly Jags last year. I'm sure they will be reminded of that fact on game week.

Quote:RG3 sucks. Yes been overrated since day one but nobody wanted to admit that Luck the was real deal so they pimped up RG3 and Wilson.

Actually RG3 was outstanding in his rookie year.

He won ROTY too.

Take a look at his rookie year #'s:

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/pl...ifRo01.htm

20 Tds vs 5 INT and threw for 3200 yds. A passer rating of 102.4. And made the pro bowl.

Every since his injury, he has never been the same and has basically fallen off a cliff.

I don't think he will ever get back to what he was in his rookie year, but that's just me.

Shanahan ruined him.

First instead of grooming him to be an NFL style QB he let him play like he was still in college. NFL QBs need to only run when it's the last option.

I don't even like seeing Bortles running the read option here in spite of it occasionally going for a big gain.

The last straw was when Shanahan kept him in the game against Seattle after it was clear he'd already been injured.
Quote:I think teams will be less likely to move up in the draft and give up a boatload of picks now.

There's more and more evidence to suggest trading up and giving up a lot of picks for 1 player is not the right way of building.

That's been the case for a long time, even before Griffin came around. Thing is, teams fall in love with players all the time. It's just that Washington was willing to pay any price in order to get their man.
I just saw on ESPN where the Skins are NOT going to pick up the option on RG3.

It was going to be for $18.4 million.

Rumors are that a QB meeting was called to name a "starter" for this week.

If Jay Gruden benches RG3 he should be fired on the spot.

You already know what you have in Cousins, McCoy is a career backup, why not find out what you have in RG3 in the remaining 5 games? You're not going to the playoffs so the season should be used as an evaluation tool. See what you have in him and if he fails, look towards your future in the upcoming draft.

It is a win now league for everyone except the Jaguars.

Preach patience, then post in another thread saying a coach should get fired on the spot.  Funny.  Real funny.

You're really reaching now. I'm "preaching patience" if you've read my entire post.

If you really think winning a couple games as a 3-8 team from a career backup is more important than determining if the current starting QB, who you gave up multiple picks to acquire is any good, then you really should have your head examined.

His job security should be questioned though if he does what the rumors are suspecting him of doing. Add that to the list of a dysfunctional team and loosing the locker room as a first year head coach. Something a 5-22 head coach in town had been at least able to keep together.

Jay Gruden didn't give up a thing for RGIII.

From what I heard he had the ok from Synder to bench RGIII.

Yeah a 5-22 head coach really has his team playing hard for him.  They got their [BAD WORD REMOVED] kicked by this team that is dysfunctional by 30 pts.

That should tell you just how bad the Jags are.

I will never hold it against a coach for trying to win more games.

You need to quit acting like you have some inside information on every team in the league.  You are the last person to be saying a coach should be fired on the spot.

Oh please. I don't claim nor have I portrayed to have any inside information on the league. I'm just relaying what I've read. Feel free to take a look.

Would you bench Bortles for Chad Henne if he could guarantee winning you a couple of games at this stage of the season? Feel free to dance around the question.

Absolutely.  But we all know that isn't the case.  How is that for dancing?

How exactly do you know what you have in Cousins but not RGIII?  14 starts compared to 33 starts?  Dance away pony boy...

So you think Cousins is the long term answer? (Who btw was benched for the 3rd string QB by the same coach you're defending). Please just stop posting.
Double post

Yeah because I totally said Cousins is the long term answer?  Where did I say that?  What does it feel like to get completely owned after every one of your posts?

I could give two [BAD WORD REMOVED] about what happens to Gruden.  I find it funny that you say he should get "fired on the spot" after one season for trying to put his team in the best position to win games, while defending Bradley to no end.  Hypocrite much?

Spin away.

Ride that pony like you ride that [BAD WORD REMOVED] loser. Going back to your question and staying on topic since you're obviously losing this round:

Because his TD to INT ratio is horrible compared to RG3 with more starts. How exactly do you explain that?

Lol someone is angry he got called out on his elementary football acumen.  That is cute.

Bortles TD INT ratio is worse than Gabberts in his rookie year.  Does that make him the better QB.

Oh hey, I loved rereading your Jedd Fisch is an Offensive Genius thread.  It gave me a good laugh.

Go take a break, then come back when you aren't so angry.  You are getting embarrassed right now.

And for the record if Bradley was in the same position and made the call to bench RG3 with 5 games left the same would apply to him. Again no hypocrite just you reaching as usual.

Or maybe you should defend Tyson Prozinski some more. I loved owning you on that topic also.
I find it funny you have a hard time staying on topic. Maybe I should type slower next time?

Awww.  Someone can't find something to come back with?  lol "typer slower next time."  You come up with that all by yourself pony boy?

What next type in crayon?

....And still off topic. Try again next round buddy. I win.
