Quote:LOL. According to Dave Caldwell they absolutely are trying to "seed" veterans.  He must have said it a hundred times. SMH.  What the heck do you think "build through the draft" means?

They have also stated they will be signing more veterans in FA this year than last, so you'll get your wish in the offseason
I don't think so.

When the dust settles on free agency next off season, I would expect to hear the same people complaining that we didn't get enough big names for their liking, even if there aren't a whole lot of big names to be had.

I almost made an addendum to that post in the spirit of what you are saying here and decided not to antagonize the topic further.  But, yes, even if Caldwell brings in a few "names" along with a crop of mid-tier "prove-it" signings  -  the same lot will be moaning over their favorite 30 year old, has-been superstar or notorious locker room-cancer-type not being included.  Even if Caldwell actually tries to sign them and they choose another option.

Clearly, if Caldwell tries to sign one of these guys and he goes elsewhere, it's because we simply didn't offer said player enough money with a practically bottomless bank account to work with.

"SHAD KHAN IS CHEAP!!!!!!  HARRUMPH!!!!!"

Quote:Do you try to act dumb or is it just not your fault?
We all know you're a [BLEEP] so it's just no point in even with trying you boy.
Quote:Are you expecting David Caldwell to waive his magic wand fixing all the issues this roster has?  This roster was historically bad when this regime took over, that's not a hyperbole. I'd like to see any business entity strip itself of all its talent while trying to compete with its competitors in that process, it's an impossible feat. It will take years for the Jaguars to rebuild this roster, and we're only a year and a half into that process. I completely understand the frustration, but its only year two for this regime.
I'm not expecting nothing but more of the same. I don't expect them to get nobody of impact in free agency and don't expect to go to the playoffs. Justify being on a job for three years and still sucking at it all you want but that's enough time to be able to compete. And I don't see that happening next year.

Well, that should save you some time in keeping track of the team since you've got it all figured out now.  With all that free time, perhaps you could invest in an English class or two?
Quote:Who, exactly, was available in the FA market at OLB and RB that we should've signed instead KNOWING that we had to have some bodies for the roster?

I love it when people say "We wasted our time" without providing a reasonably better alternative.
RB:

Ben Tate

LaGarette Blount

OR Resign Justin Forsett

OLB imo wasn't as big of a need I thought Geno Hayes was solid and I was pumped for Telvin.
Fact, bears eat beets. Bears, beets, "Battlestar Galactica."

Quote:They're not saying they're going to "spend big" in free agency.  They're saying they're going to be aggressive, which is pretty much what they were being this past off season with their attempt to land Mack.  My guess is they're going to be smart about free agency, and they'll spend what is necessary to land guys they feel will be a good fit for what they're trying to do.  You may not like their moves, but I'm pretty sure that's not going to influence the direction they take.
Let me ask you this, when will you personally get frustated with this building philosophy they're attempting to implement? How many more years you're willing to watched of these types of records before you say they don't know what the hell they're doing?
SenDerrick marks was a miracle, nobody knew he'd be this good.

Just  because I'm not crying a river of tears like you and other whiners on this board doesn't mean I'm not frustrated.  I simply recognize that there's a process in place here, and that this thing needs to be allowed to play itself out.  The team will either improve or it won't.  No amount of whining and complaining by the likes of you is going to influence it one bit.  The sooner you grasp that point, the better off you'll be.

I pay a lot of money for season tickets, and i will continue to do so until such time as I am physically unable to attend games, the team relocates to another market, or I get the sense that the team has simply decided to mail it in and they're not really trying to get better.  Since none of those things are happening, my investment will continue.  What about you?

You don't know that for sure.

This front office definitely scouted the guy and felt he was a player who had the potential to be a building block that they could use for the foundation of the new approach.  He proved them right, and he's been rewarded.

How much you get an hour for doing this job?

Not a penny, and I'm betting that's probably still a higher hourly rate than you're hauling in.

Nobody's crying we suck and a lot of people are just stating that fact. Can you answer a question chump?

Please.  Some of you are acting like spoiled little school girls who are hearing the word "no" for the first time.

I answered  your question.  You're just not keen enough to comprehend the words you're reading.

If you're gonna fault Caldwell for signing Watson, you have to credit him for Marks.

Bingo.

Well bet it then. I can pick it up at the stadium next game. Or you dont want to do that?

I think I already know the answer, but I have to ask.

If you owned an NFL team with a similar history to the Jags, how long would you give the new coach you hire before bringing in a new one? A year and a half? Two years? One year?

If you were running the show, how long would you give the GM and the coach to turn it around before firing them?
