Quote:When a WR demands that kind of money its time they walk. someone that is taking up a 10th of your cap space isn't worth it unless they are a factor in winning every game. You can get similar production out of cheaper WR. No thanks to Dez Bryant he can stay in Dallas.

That was Jerry's offer, not Dez's demand. I'd say he'll get more before it's over. The guarantee is the issue since he's had some off field issues in the past.
Andre Johnson and Su

You want to sign a 33 year old receiver???

Yes with his work ethic and experience it would lend it self to developing our younger recievers much better, i mean they have shorts to look up to :teehee:

ask yourself would we be a better team with Fitzgerald or Johnson or Megatron as long as they still can play i would love ot have one of them for 2 or 3 years.

Haha. I see your point, but I think the cost vs. benefit in that situation makes it unwise.
Will be hard to sign a receiver that is under contract until 2016.

….and there's that. ^

We are more likely to see the team sign more "prove it" type free agents like they have the last few years. Some will work (Marks, Ball). Most won't (Gerhart, Watson).

We're not coming close to suh or mccourtney...

Not even a possibility
Just a reminder on Khan's FA comments while in London for the cowboys game:

Quote: “I have a huge amount of confidence in [GM] Dave [Caldwell] and [coach] Gus [Bradley] and they’re encouraged. Some of these players are the future of the franchise and will be with us for a long time. It’s very important they mature, but we want them to mature quicker.”

*The Jaguars, under the Caldwell/Bradley leadership, have pinpointed March 2015 as a big free agent year and Khan said the team will be “very active.”

“We were active this year – look at our defensive line, which is pretty good and they’re mostly free agents,” he said. “We’re going to be very active for a number of reasons. Other teams don’t have the luxury we have – they have constraints and can’t sign everyone. We’ll be on the flip side.”

O'Halloran ^

I'll believe that when I see it. My hope is they do fill some of the many holes on this team (tight end, right tackle, pass rusher, linebacker, free safety) with veteran free agents that have actually done something in the league. I also think the team probably needs to add an experienced receiver.
