My thoughts on the game:
  • Bortles played well, he is definitely improving.
  • Specifically Bortles had some smart throws that won't go on the stat sheet.
  • I like the running in the redzone or across the 50, takes pressure off Bortles to make a play/mistake.
  • Denard looked great.
  • McCray looked great.
  • Gratz did not.
  • Cyprien did not.
  • JT Thomas did not.
  • Watson was invisible.
  • We played against two All-Pros on the offense plus an absolutely dominate offensive line.
  • The Cowboys were very hungry and did not look ahead to their bye week.
  • Dez played an excellent half which really broke the game.
  • The fumbles were 50/50 plays that happen every week, we just didn't capitalize on the opportunities.  Young teams typically get better in this regard.

Overall, one of the better games by the Jags I've seen all year even though the scoreboard does not reflect that.

Hrm. This is the first Jaguars game this season I was unable to watch (family illness), but from everything I've read, I would've thought it was a horrible performance by our team and a sign of regression. Your post has me thoroughly confused...I reckon I'm gonna need to sit down and watch this game tonight and see for myself. Smile

I am very confused by many of the posts after the Cowboys game, I thought it was one of the better performances.  It just so happens the team we were playing against played a lot harder and had key matchups against us that they exploited.  Their beast offensive line neutralized our best unit.
This is a joke thread right?

Enough excuse making, enough silver linings. It's time for some accountability.
The Jaguars did not play well Sunday.  Our defense was horrendous--missed tackles left and right.  Bortles looked average, which is an improvement.  Denard is legit.  Otherwise...we were awful.

I liked that we made a strong statement of taking the lead, it shows that we really are capable, but then the dreadful ''stale play calling'' comes into effect where we seem to just consistently go 3 and out, along with the sanders fumble that pretty much made the game what it was.
Another excuse. Throw that on the mounting pile of em too while you're at it. In a roundabout way you're saying the Jags suck from head to toe but you just put a lil cologne on it with your wording. I agree.
Second best is first worst.
