Does Baltimore even want Joekel?

It really is frustrating when someone throws s**t at a wall to see what sticks. If you listen to Caldwell carefully you can hear him talk about not knowing what veteran guys (that he didn't draft) would be returning and that they felt comfortable with spending a lot of draft picks on the offensive side of the ball because of the depth of the draft, if "said" guys didn't return for this year.

No how in the hell do you go from that to the title of this thread?

No I'm not saying that there isn't a possibility that Joeckel wasn't/isnt up for trade.

But seriously if 2+2=4, this thread is 2+2=100.
This is the dumbest thread i've seen in weeks.

Quote:He was just naming some names and forgot him, much like an Oscar winner trying to thank everyone from his mechanic to his hairdresser. Meant nothing.

No, he was asked about whether he knew he would be playing so many young players and his answer was about veteran players that he let go or retained. He didn't mention Joeckel because Joeckel is not a veteran player.
Quote:I didn't understand this thread at first. But it sounds like he's just saying there is competition for those who haven't proven themselves. Look at each of those positions and you have a veteran with a bunch of young players as depth (or in Will's case, nobody as depth).

Read this. This is the article about the press conference in the video. He was talking about whether he knew we would be playing so many rookies and second year guys.

He wasn't talking about ALL offensive starters. He was talking about VETERAN players who would still be on the offense. He didn't mention Joeckel because the question was about the older players.
Quote:It just made me wonder when I heard Caldwell say that the only offensive starters he knew for sure would be on this year's roster would be Marcedes Lewis, Cecil Shorts III and Will Tu'ofu'ou ("Will T"). By not mentioning Joekel, I'm wondering if Caldwell may have had thought about possibly of trading Joekel if a lucrative enough offer presents itself.

Or else I'm reading between the lines far too much. It's beyond the trade deadline so it's not like this could still happen...at least until March.

As a reference, I'm talking about what Caldwell says at about the 3 min mark...

you definitely took what he was trying to say the wrong way

I just watched the Daily Show from last night where Jon Stewart talks alot about context. Very fitting for this thread.
I was a bit critical of Joeckel at the start of the year, but he has been improving the last few weeks just like the rest of our line.

I think he'll be fine.

I like make believe

Is it Luke's fault or the OLine Coach?

It's Luke's fault either way

Gotcha.
