Quote:“It’s strange how it all worked out,” Mincey said, via Charean Williams of theFort Worth Star-Telegram. “Just last year, I was with the Jags, and we were getting ready to play the 49ers [in London], and I was going through kind of a tough time, because I wasn’t allowed to be myself. I’m like, dude, I’m a leader. This is who I am. All the teammates, everybody gravitated toward me. It was just hard for me not to be able to let it all out, because you’ve got a coach who don’t know you, really, genuinely.

“… You’ve got to have players that are willing to die for the cause, and I want to win. I play to win, and that’s my mentality.”

....

There were reports out of Jacksonville at the time that he was missing meetings and otherwise not focused on football. But he had a different version.

“I don’t think they looked at my positives,” he said. “I was going through a lot. It was tough, man. There are a lot of things I can’t talk about, but there were a lot of things that happened to me that I don’t speak on, and I swallowed that pill, because I’m a man.

“I get knocked down, and I just get up and come back stronger, work harder. You just focus on what I’ve got to do. Right now, I’m trying to be the best Cowboy I can be, and we’re doing a good job.”

Enjoy your rap career Mincey.
Mincey was too concerned with his personal life than with his career. Glad he's gone.

Addition by subtraction.

The Jags and Mincey are both better off by his departure.

Lol.

I really don't see how he's a leader but that's just me.

All I got from that was that he has inflated ego. I'm sure a lot of NFL players do, but I can see that not working under Gus and a significant amount of other coaches in general.

I got a kick out of

Having listened to countless Gus interviews that's pretty much all Gus looks at. There was an obvious disconnect between Mincey, his ego, and the coaching staff.
Miney we got 5 players on our d line on pace to pass your career high lol.. bye bye

Really. If Gus can't find your positives, there aren't any.
"because I’m a man."

If you have to say that, you're not a man.

Yeah, he just doesn't get it. Gus and Dave evidently saw that.
He good but the fit was not with the new staff.

I hope Mincey doesn't get Bortles low or high this weekend. If he does get to the QB let it be a legal hit.

Please. Mincey was released because he was consistently late for multiple team meetings and because he was an awful scheme fit for Bradley's defense. Both parties were far better off parting ways.

But are the Cowboys better off by getting him?
Let's see here... Mincey? Or Clemons? Mincey? Or Clemons?

Both have played well, but let's take a closer look at the stats...

Jeremy Mincey (Dallas): 9 Starts, 17 tackles (6 solo), 1 sack, 1 forced fumble

Chris Clemons (Jacksonville): 9 starts, 25 tackles (17 solo), 4 sacks, 1 pass defensed, 1 forced fumble

Chris Clemons obviously was an upgrade for us according to those statistics.

So is Jeremy Mincey a downgrade for the Cowboys? If he replaced DeMarcus Ware, definitely. (And that would be like a player for player trade even though they were cut.)

Gus Bradley said Mincey benefited from "a culture change" after we cut him. It sounds like Bradley thinks Mincey was a psychological misfit in Jacksonville.

lol Mince can go suck a lemon. Glad Dallas has to deal with his crap and not us anymore.

What an idiot. Trying to justify his behavior and lack of focus/play while he was here. He should have been truthful. Wasn't buying into the new regime, and stopped caring. We aren't stupid.

Mincey has long been a bit of a liability against the run. People tend to think it's his strength, but I've seen him flat run over numerous times. I doubt he's improved that much and say we sent Gerhart his way a few times.

He was never the fastest guy to begin with, and when he gained a little weight here to help him with the run, it made him that more sluggish.
Knarnn - You got the title wrong, but I fixed it for you.

Jeremy Mincey speaks whines

He's almost as bad as MJD.
