Quote:False. Because evetnually youre gonna find the right coach.

Bradley isnt gonna be here more than another year tops. We arent going to make a magical third year leap. That's totally unrealistic. Talk about high expectations.
Eventually?? Bwahahhaha. Sure, that response will work for anything. Eventually, I'll win the lottery. I wonder how many lifetimes that could take.... Only the impatient fans are screaming for Bradley to be fired. We sucked entirely before Caldwell and Bradley got here. We suck less than we did at that point now, so that's progress. The win/loss record doesn't depict progress. That will come in time. I don't expect getting grade A products going to McDonalds. Do you? We are currently McDonalds; young, inexperienced, and have lots of turnover.

GO JAGS!!
Quote:The problem is that we are sooooo young. Like 90% of our starting lineup is either in their rookie year or second year, realistically.

OFFENSE

-Bortles

-D.Robinson

-A.Robinson

-Hurns

-Linder

-Joekel

-Bowanko

-Pasztor

DEFENCE

-Cyprien

-Gratz

-McCray

-Evans

-Smith

-Reynolds

-George

-Davis

-Branch

Think about how many players that is. All of them are starters or have one point played majority of games. They're all young, and inexperienced like our coaching staff. Gus in his 2nd year as first time being head coach. The only position we have experience at is the D LINE and they are playing very well. It's a growing process, mostly with Bortles and his WR's. Blackmon returning would be magical.

And who is at fault for that inexperience? It's the flaw in the plan. There are no role models. There are few leaders.

We should sign all the 33 year old washed up players no other team wanted.  IMMEDIATELY!
I keep seeing people claim our roster was inept of talent when Gus and Dave took over therefore they should be given 3 or 4 years to replenish a talentless roster. Here's a fact to chew on: 21 of 26 draft picks of Smith's from 2009 to 2012 are still in the league. Here are guys who played under Del Rio and Mularkey who were not good enough for a 5-11 and 2-14 team that found jobs on other teams!

These GM's of other teams had the benefit of seeing the player's PROFESSIONAL experience and gave them jobs. Dave and Gus decided they had no talent. Go figure.

Would this team have any more wins if they kept Daryl Smith, Rashad Jennings, Monroe and Terrance Knighton?

(those are the only 4  former Jags that Caldwell let walk that are even remotely worth consideration IMO)
Who has the California crystal ball? I don't know but if they were still on the roster our draft picks could have been directed toward other positions including depth. When you have talent at a position, keep it and draft or buy other positions.

Of those 21 I'd say about 12 are fringe NFL talents at best:

1) Eben Britton (Bears Backup Guard, played 87 snaps this season)

2) Derek Cox (currently an unsigned free agent)

3) Zach Miller (Bears TE, played 26 preseason snaps before landing on IR)

4) Tiquan Underwood (currently an unsigned free agent)

5) D'Anthony Smith (On Seattle's practice squad)

6) Austen Lane (currently an unsigned free agent)

7) Deji Karim (released by clots with injury settlement)

8) Blaine Gabbert (backup QB in San Fransisco)

9) Will Rackley (currently on IR [concussion] for Ravens)

10) Chris Prosinkski (waived by Jaguars 9/24, signed by Eagles today)

11) Mike Harris (signed by Giants from Lions practice squad, zero snaps played)

12) Jeris Pendleton (currently on IR [knee] for clots)

5 are still on this team:

1) Justin Blackmon

2) Andre Branch

3) Bryan Anger

4) Cecil Shorts

5) Tyson Alualu

And 4 are contributing members of their team:

1) Eugene Monroe

2) Terrance Knighton

3) Brandon Marshall

4) Rashad Jennings
We made it harder then we needed to but what's done is done. I don't believe this regime has 4 years to get it done we are either competing next year or changes will be made.

Prior to the last 4 weeks I was losing hope but I'm seeing improvement. I'll wait and see what happens. I just think holding onto some of the talent we did have would've made this rebuild easier but oh well.
I'd have kept Daryl Smith and Jennings.  That's it.

I like the youth movement and I like Caldwell's commitment to building through the draft.

The first 4 weeks of this season were completely unacceptable in my eyes. Whatever went wrong, I hope they learned from it because I never want to see that level of unpreparedness again. During the last month we've seen a professionally competitive team, which is all I expected this year.

That said, I think we will see some tweaks to the coaching staff this offseason. DC and ST are just about a given IMO. It's also very possible Sullivan retires.

Not gonna happen.

There wasn't a single loss last season where we showed the fight we did last Sunday.

That's clear improvement.  That game last year would have been lost 41-3 in pure blowout fashion.  At no point would we ever have been in the game.

We clean up the mistakes, and we beat Cincy.  Something we couldn't have even dreamed about last season.

Yep. Top of the 4th quarter it was 26-23.  We were in it.

Agreed we saw a team that fought harder then any other team I've seen in the last 3-4 years. They kept fighting back, that was HUGE and I think it will pay off before the seasons over.

You know as well as me that cap casualties arent always about performance. You can find decent castoffs whose teams were so good they just couldnt afford to pay everyone

Like we did with Bryant and Clemmons?

We've been working that market. I think you are overestimating the number of quality castoffs that are available.

You might seriously be the stupidest person on this board. Firing coach after coach every 2 years DOES NOT WORK. It didn't work for the Raiders, it didn't work for the Browns, it didn't work for the Redskins, it didn't work for the Bills, and it won't work for this team, either.
I hate when people say "well, we are improving" and expect that to be enough.

Newsflash:  Other teams are improving as well.

Are we improving fast enough to catch up to some of these teams?  That is the question.  I sure hope so.

I feel that we do have some nice young pieces that can develop, but there's still nobody that is emerging as a potential star.  Here's hoping Bortles, DRob, ARob, Lee, or someone like Telvin Smith can be that.

I dont think you realize how truly awful his 2 year resume will be if the season continues like this. A 2 or 3 win season would warrant termination.
If they were even getting 5 or 6 wins one of these past 2 years. But if his win total is only 6 through two seasons? No way man. He's out.

Other teams are improving and other teams are getting worse.

It's a heck of a lot better to be part of the improving half of the NFL than the getting worse.
