It's a new movement being headed up by the Giraffes because they feel the Rhino's are getting preferential treatment at the zoo.

Quote:Roy Miller has been a beast in the middle this year. He is one of the main reasons our run D has been so good. What makes you question the resigning of Roy Miller?

I rarely see him double teamed or near the QB.

Quote:These are the 2 most important players to resign IMO. Just wondering what type of deals do you think these guys get? If Davis keeps it up I think he will get a similar deal to Marks and Miller maybe a 3 yr. 12 mill. Ball and JT Thomas are the 2 other players I would like to see resigned. Poz and Lewis will get cut and it will give us some more cap space to resign some players and maybe get a Julius Thomas.
Yes, and Yes!

Or, if you will, Yes please!

Seriously though, if we don't start signing and retaining talent somewhere, what do we have aside from the lowest payroll in the NFL?

Just think, in another 25 years, we could be the NFL version of the Royals....

No thanks.

And plus "Get off the field!".

IMO, Ball, Miller, and Davis need to be extended.

Hmmm.  I do.

Just to make sure I'm not crazy - I looked at the rewind all 22 of just the first quarter from the miami game.  This was the third snap that Miller played.  He's lined up between center and RG - shaded to the center.  Takes on the double team and gets held by the center (not called) or he probably would have split this sack with Marks.

It's more about his run stopping though, IMO.  QB pressure is rarely his objective.  It seems disruption and lateral pursuit to the ball carrier is what they are trying to utilize him for the most.

Here's the play I described.

And - later - same play -  here he is being held while Marks sacks tannehill...

Now - he's not always double teamed when he lines up this way. Sometimes it's just the center that takes him on. But I've seen him engage both and still break free to tackle a RB for minimal or no gain.  That's his strength IMO.

Nice beak down, yeah Miller draws double teams and the opponent gets no push in the middle in the run game. Like you said Miller's job is not to rush the passers-by but he does get push up the middle. He has done his job just as good as anybody on the defense and needs to get resigned
I think we should re-sign every defensive player who will be a free agent next year. Most defensive backs are thre same age as half of our offense so we need Alan Ball's experience to help them out. The defensive line is so good right now making any changes would be fixing what is not broken. Give the back 7 two years together and you will see some more great things than harrassing the quarterback.
