It's all about perspective.
A man who has hired a hooker is undressed and preparing to consummate the transaction when the lady of the night giggles and says, "Who do you hope to make happy with that?". In a dead pan voice the man replies, "Me."

Congrats to both you, and bunnie on the mod status!
Quote:They said that when the first mods came on board. And when the next batch were "elevated". And the next. And the next. Et cetera, et cetera.
Nothing you've said here has not made my statement true though.

Not really.
Mods are permitted to be posters first and foremost. In all the years I've been doing this, the one thing that we've seen little or nothing of here is any mod abusing their position. We know the rules and what we can or can't say. If we cross the line, we're treated like any other poster.
If it wasn't for the volunteer mods that have been maintaining this board for the past several years, the board itself wouldn't exist. Allowing moderators to come from the general population of the board posters prevented what was almost seen as an inevitability years ago. JID allowed it on a trial basis, and as a result, the board continued to survive and thrive despite some quirky rules that are unique to this forum compared to others.
Mods don't create the rules here. They simply enforce them. The overwhelming majority of posters never have problems with the mods, or the board rules. It's a very small percentage who feel they should be permitted to say or do anything they please. Unfortunately for them, this is a privately owned/operated message board, and there is no freedom of speech.
