We hosted a board gathering several years ago at Mudville Grille in St. Nicholas.  Even got support from the team with the planning.  Had a really good turnout.

 

I've posted in the past regarding "the other board" and my thoughts regarding the people that ran it.  One particular person who I despise runs BCC.

 

What people fail to realize is that other forums/venues (facebook, twitter, reddit, etc.) are not owned by anyone that really cares about the content, and sites like that can be closed down without any notice at all.

 

You are correct though in the fact that many of the "sendoffs" and such had a lot more participation and traffic via this message board.
