Quote:Allen Robinson has proven to be a reliable target. I'm willing to bank on either Hurns or Lee's development before spending another pick at the position. Hurns could easily become a true number one with proper coaching and time.

....and then we have the possibility of Blackmon......
i think wide receiver does need an upgrade and having heard nothing about blackmon doesn't give me hope of a return

if we think of our 5 wides

a rob, shorts, hurns, lee, sanders

i think you have to give a rob, hurns and lee time so that's 3 of 5 for next season

shorts is probably going to get moved on unless he stays healthy the rest of this season and starts putting up some numbers especially considering the contract numbers i've seen discussed on this board

added sanders, to me, has looked sluggish in punt returns and barely seen the field since his return in week 5. I think you can replace or provide competition for both those guys in free agency without having to use the draft picks but I would like to see at least one guy come in especially if shorts is let go
Punt Returner
D-Line - Draft Williams #1 and get a free agent DT to upgrade Miller/or re-sign Miller.  The LEO's we have will continue to grow.  Marks is a beast and we have good depth overall on the DL.

FS - Draft FS #2 and let compete with Evans.

LB - Draft MLB #3 to learn from POZ for one year.  Keep Thomas and Smith is going to be good.  Watson and Reynolds for depth.

CB - I don't think we do any thing here.  McCray, Gratz, Colvin, Harris, Blackmon.  See how the rest of this year plays out.

TE - Sign Julius Thomas and use mid round pick on another.  Keep Harbor let Lewis go.

WR - Pray for B14 to return.  If it doesn't look like that is going to happen then we may need to re-sign Shorts.

OL - Use to mid round picks. (1 Guard and 1 OT)

RB - D-rob and Storm are here to stay.  Jury is still out on Gerhart.  Use another 7th round pick on a RB who can return kicks.
OT - need a dominant J. Ogden type impact player

WR - need a #1 like Amari Cooper.

MLB - need a Ray Lewis enforcer for the next 15 years.

TE - need a durable and more consistent Mercedes -- maybe a young Antonio Gates.

FS - need a ball hawking Safety ... maybe someone fast like Darrell Green (former Redskin)

Sounds easy enough. Just need a couple of guys who were among the best at their position of all time and sprinkle in one of the fastest guys to ever play in the NFL.

Should be able to do that every year.

We could probably still get Darrell Green he can probably still run in the 4.4s

Iirc Green said tootsie rolls made him fast...just give the DBs those...

QB (blake has to prove to be the guy)

Te

Oline

WR

RB
How can we have the bottom offense in the league and most people pick all defensive needs?

RobinStorm will be our RB 1 2 punch

Lol QB our number 1 need? Funny.
I think that 1 of the biggest needs the Jags have is a true #1 WR.

There is just to much inexperience at that position and it's showing.

A WR that will fight for every ball thrown his way, not let a ball get intercepted without a fight, and catch nearly everything thrown his way, even the tough ones.

Even if he got double-teamed that would mean another WR is either open or one on one.

He could help mentor the young WR and would make BB job so much easier, having a WR he could really count on.

Add in a reliable TE and you will have an offense that's a serious threat to score every possession.

I just think you would see such a difference in the offense if the Jags could just get a true #1 WR.

I agree.

That's why I said a true #1 WR and a reliable TE.
More pools, tvs and entertainment. Bell rung every quarter vs just the end of 3rd quarter. Free Firehouse sub with every pick 6.

Better tasting Gus juice. Opposing fans relegated to far right nose bleed section. Half price tickets when team doesn't cover spread.

Same team field entrance process as London. Season ticket holders choose which game plays in London. Terrible towels banned due to eye injuries, and Steeler fan butt whippings. Retractable roof... At least be comfortable whenever it's a yawn fest.

Other than that, nothing. I'm reasonable.

Because most of our offensive players are rookies.  You dont just keep drafting QB, OL, and WR every year at the top of the draft when the rookies we have are improving week after week or look very promising
