TBH the defense really isnt that much of a problem right now as much as the offense is. I know there are other positions on the offense that need upgraded over WR, but as most have said, none of those positions do you take in the top 5. I mean if Robinson keeps playing like he has the past couple of weeks, you can pretty much guarantee we wouldn't take a chance on Gurley. Plus trading down I don't think will be much of an option this upcoming draft as it's pretty weak.
I'd like to see Cooper, if we have an over abundance of legit WR's then good.
Amari Cooper, Allen Robinson, Marquise Lee, Allen Hurns, and Ace Sanders would be a great group for Bortles to throw to. I would be ecstatic if the draft went like this: 1. Cooper. 2. Nick O'Leary 3. Shaq Thompson 4. Stephone Anthony. That is assuming we address FS in free agency. We would solve the pass catching and LB situation for the foreseeable future.
Shaq Thompson in the third round? Good luck with that.
Agreed. Lee should slide into the slot role with Hurns/Ace as depth

How do you figure Shaq thompson falls to the 3rd round? We would be super lucky if he fell to the 2nd but will probably get drafted mid 1st

My bad. I've seen some people say second and third for him.
With Lane Kiffin calling plays M. Lee 118-1750 yards best receiver stats in America
Now Lane has Cooper........................See a trend
Cooper is really good and all, but if we are picking top 3 I just don't see how we don't take a pass rusher like Leonard/Gregory/Oakman/Ray/Kikaha...and if we are picking in the back end top 10 then Collins easily > Cooper for this team IMO.
Unless Cooper hits a growth spurt and becomes a TE then i don't want him where he'll end up going in the draft
People really love wide receivers. It is hilarious. Cooper is a good player but he is not an elite prospect. He's probably going to measure in at 6'0 and he doesn't have elite speed.
This draft is heavy on defensive line at the top. Get one of those guys.

It's not like he took some scrub and made him an All-American...Cooper had 1000 yards and double digit TDs as a true freshman in a run heavy Bama offense and he had a bunch of big plays. Even before this season started he was mocked in the 1st round.

based on the last 4 weeks, doesn't seem like Ace is in the plans to be a factor on offense, IMO, they're better off locking up Shorts if they can do a reasonable deal so they have Shorts, Robinson, Lee as the core guys going forward for the next 3 or 4 years.
As much as I'd like to get Cooper, I don't think he's quite top 5 material in this draft. If we trade back into the bottom half of the top 10, nothing would surprise me though, no such thing as having too many playmakers.
No. Cooper is the product of the defenses stacking the box to prevent Yeldon and Henry from grinding out yards.

I have to agree with this. He's a good prospect but for a team that has some young talent developing really well at WR, I don't see us spending a high pick on this guy.
If I had to take a guess at our pick I'd say Gregory. You can't have too many pass rushers and Clemons isn't getting any younger. I'd like to see what a NFL conditioning program can do for him. He's good good instincts/moves.

VH3 is one of the best corners in college football, and Cooper made him look like an amateur.

What game were you watching? Cooper did not abuse VH3
Quote:this guy is a transcendent talent.
we're going to be picking top 3ish and we have to take this chap.
i know that WR isn't a need, and we have several areas of need, but this guy is a talent the caliber of AJ Green/Julio Jones/Megatron, in my opinion.
just imagine:
1. Cooper
2. Blackmon
3. Robinson
4. Hurns
5. Lee
in my opinion, he is the best prospect this year by a considerable margin.
I'd rather have Kevin White or DGB (the latter is a complete idiot), I feel their respective game(s) tranlsate better to the NFL.

He Mossed VH3 for a TD. He had a heck of a stat line on him if I remember correctly.

He didn't "moss" him on that td, it was an almost perfectly defended play, just a perfect pass from Sims and most of his yards came from safety's blowing coverage and VH3 being hurt for half the game.

Hargreaves was also having to leave the field every darn near every other play because he was playing hurt. Cooper is really good and would put up stats on anyone, but that was not a fair matchup between the two that week.
